Teto was WONDERFUL
Teto was a WONDERFUL guide! He was a very experienced rider so we felt very safe and confident the entire ride. He was able to point out sloths, coatis, crabs, and cut up fresh pineapple for us at our break on the beach. We will absolutely be taking this tour again when we come back to Jaco (-:

Friendly, helpful guide with beautiful scenery & experience
Tito was a great guide, informative and friendly. He safely led us through the groves and beautiful beaches in Jaco, prepared fresh pineapple as a delicious treat, and was helpful and knowledgeable throughout the ride. Highly recommend!

Beautiful Tour, but Uncomfortable Treatment
I booked this horseback riding tour as a birthday gift for my boyfriend. The tour itself was beautiful, the horses were well cared for, and he really enjoyed the beach and the ride.
Unfortunately, the treatment he received made the experience uncomfortable. When he arrived, they checked several times whether he actually had a reservation with them, and he also had to wait more than an hour, while they prepared everything because they didn’t know about the booking.
They kept asking questions about where the reservation came from and whether he knew people from competing tour companies. Later, on the beach, the guide even told him directly that they had thought he might have been sent by a competitor.
That was the most unpleasant part of the experience. He felt uncomfortable and judged when he was simply there to enjoy the birthday gift I had booked for him. The tour itself was nice, but the way he was treated definitely affected the overall experience.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. First and foremost, we sincerely apologize for the way your boyfriend was made to feel. While we're happy to hear that he enjoyed the horses, the beach, and the ride itself, the interaction you described does not reflect the level of hospitality we expect from our team.
We also want to apologize for the delay that morning. The reservation was received through the booking platform at approximately 2:20 a.m. for our 7:00 a.m. tour. At the time, our system and team were not properly prepared to receive a same-morning reservation submitted overnight, which was an oversight on our part. We have since addressed this internally to ensure early-morning bookings are properly monitored. According to our records, the delay was approximately 30 minutes; however, we completely understand that any unexpected wait at the beginning of a birthday experience is frustrating.
Most importantly, the questions and assumptions regarding competing companies were inappropriate and unnecessary. A guest should never be made to feel questioned or judged for simply booking a tour with us. We have addressed this matter seriously with the guide involved and reinforced our customer-service expectations with our team.
We genuinely value every person who chooses Horseback Riding Jacó, and we're very sorry that what should have been a special birthday experience was affected by this situation. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to learn from it and improve.

Try new things
Go and ride turbo and cappuccino. My experience was absolutely amazing and the guide was the sweetest guy. He took pictures of my partner and I riding.. He has a vast knowledge about plants, animals in the area, the sea, and the horses.

Look out Lone Ranger
It was a great experience. The tour guys were amazing and went out of their way to make sure we had a great time and a great experience. They also make sure we got to take plenty of photos and took photos of the entire party.

Horseback riding in the jungle and on the beach was top-notch.
Teto is very welcoming and kind.
The ride is safe with gentle, normal-sized horses, even for small children.
Jungle with possible encounters with sloths, monkeys, parrots... then a break on a deserted beach with fruit tasting and the return.
No helmet (because it's not dangerous) but you can ask for one.
Great experience!

Horse riding on the beach
Had a wonderful trip with Teto. He gave good instructions on what to do with me being a first timer. We even had a little run on the beach! Teton was knowledgeable about the wildlife and even stopped to point out a sloth!

Horses, sloths, parrots, beach
We took the beach route with Gerardo as our perfect guide. The horses were in great shape and beautifully groomed. We were taken through a palm tree orchard and then a quiet dirt road with lots of canopy and shade. Along the way we spotted a sloth, unfurled, in a tree. Also some active monkeys and parrots. The beach was a beautiful cove and we had to ride through some waves to get there. Exciting. We rested and took photos before heading back. We started early in the morning, 7:30 am which is recommended before high heat. Highly recommend.
