Description
Une journée de visite consacrée à l'eau et au feu, des gorges de l'Alcantara au plus haut volcan actif d'Europe. Visitez le parc fluvial d'Alcantara, une magnifique réserve naturelle située entre Catane et Taormina, un lieu unique avec son Alcantara. Après cette visite, nous nous dirigeons vers l’Etna et visitons d’anciens cratères et coulées de lave, ainsi que des grottes volcaniques à explorer en toute sécurité.

La randonnée guidée traverse le River Park, un lieu de grand intérêt naturaliste. Au cours de cette agréable promenade parmi la végétation luxuriante, vous profiterez d'une visite du haut de la rivière Alcantara et des différents points de vue situés le long des sentiers, vous pourrez voir des vues d'une beauté extraordinaire. Un spectacle unique se dévoilera sous vos yeux : gorges rocheuses vertigineuses jusqu'à 25 mètres de haut divisées en deux par la rivière glaciale de l'Alcantara, les gorges de l'Alcantara représentent un authentique chef-d'œuvre de la nature. Avec l'excursion aux Gorges de l'Alcantara, vous pourrez admirer l'incroyable beauté de ces gorges profondes d'origine volcanique. Leurs falaises surplombant le fleuve parsemé de prismes basaltiques, les bizarres formations rocheuses symétriques, qui se sont formées à la suite du refroidissement de la lave incandescente au contact de l'eau glacée et leurs majestueux basaltes colonnaires d'origine millénaire composent un ravissant canyon naturel de impact extraordinaire.
La visite de l'Etna comprend une visite aux cratères Silvestri, situés près du refuge Sapienza où vous pourrez admirer les paysages lunaires qui caractérisent la zone des cratères datant de l'éruption de 1892. La visite de l'Etna se poursuit avec l'exploration d'une grotte de lave spectaculaire. Les guides vous accompagneront et vous seront fournis le matériel nécessaire (casque et torches) pour pouvoir visiter la grotte volcanique en toute sécurité.
Lors de votre visite à l'Etna, vous rencontrerez une vue unique et vous pourrez admirer l'immense étendue de la Vallée du Boeuf , une ancienne caldeira volcanique formée il y a 10 000 ans.
En chemin, vous pourrez observer les coulées de lave datant de différents âges, véritables preuves de l'intense activité volcanique de l'Etna qui a traversé des siècles d'histoire comme les bombes volcaniques, les cratères et divers cratères latéraux. Avec une promenade entre les cratères de formation ancienne et ceux de formation plus récente, vous traverserez la zone touchée par la coulée de lave générée par l'éruption de 1991/93 et vous atteindrez le Refuge de la Sapienza à 2000 mètres d'altitude.
La dernière étape de la visite de l'Etna est prévue dans la ville de Zafferana Etnea. Vous vous arrêterez dans une ferme certifiée et il vous sera proposé une dégustation de produits typiques Miel, huile d'olive, dégustation de 3 vins, vin Nerello Mascalese etna

We were lucky to be the only 2 participants that day... So we had an almost private tour with Daniela which was just great!!! He explained everything, from Etna, to the caves up to the Alcantara gorges!! Simply fantastic as the tour itself!! To be redone!! Simone & Aris

Tour of Etna and the Alcantara gorges accompanied by the very kind, extremely helpful and highly trained guide Aristide Tomasino. We spent a very pleasant day passing in the morning, after an exhaustive explanation during the journey, to the gorges of the three levels climbing up to the Speranza refuge near the sylvan craters where we were able to enjoy a suggestive and spectacular view. Afterwards, tasting of wines and specialties in the city of Zafferana and, in the afternoon, visit to the Alcantara gorges where we were able to visit the beautiful park and take a bath in the cold water of the river. Beautiful and memorable day, recommended.
Super recommended experience for anyone passing through the Etna area. It was fun and interesting both for the wonderful places we visited and for the passion and culture of our guide (Aristide).
