Château d'Édimbourg : visite guidée à pied avec billet d'entrée
Description
La deuxième attraction touristique la plus populaire d'Écosse et vous en apprendrez plus sur l'histoire sanglante, y compris les histoires des rois et des reines qui ont vécu dans ce château. Il y a des traces d'un fort ici depuis près de 3 000 ans, et c'est un château royal depuis au moins le règne du roi David Ier au 12ème siècle. Les monarques écossais continuèrent à l’utiliser jusqu’en 1633, et virent même dans ses murs la naissance du roi Jacques VI. Votre visite débutera sur le Royal Mile, puis vous conduira au château, où vous entendrez votre guide parler des origines du château et de ses sièges. Une fois à l’intérieur des murs du château, le guide vous fera découvrir les différentes parties de la forteresse et vous racontera son histoire fascinante. À l'intérieur du complexe, vous trouverez trois musées, deux prisons, un cimetière canin, la chapelle Sainte-Marguerite, le monument national aux morts d'Écosse, le grand hall et un palais royal. (LA VISITE ENTIÈRE RESTERA À L'EXTÉRIEUR ; les bâtiments sont non accessible pendant la visite.)

Promenez-vous à l'intérieur du château pendant 1 heure et 10 minutes pour profiter du magnifique palais royal, où vécut autrefois Marie, reine d'Écosse, et admirez la grande salle du XVIe siècle où se déroulaient des fêtes et des festins. Après l'exploration avec un guide, vous pouvez passer un temps libre à l'intérieur du château jusqu'à la fermeture

- Veuillez noter que par mauvais temps, la visite restera à l'extérieur car l'accès aux bâtiments du château n'est pas disponible pour les groupes de touristes
- La visite se fera à l'intérieur des murs du château, mais à l'extérieur, avec du temps libre après la visite pour explorer le château et pénétrer dans chaque bâtiment (musées, palais royal, prisons et bien plus encore). Nous ne pouvons pas accéder à ces bâtiments pendant la visite, mais la visite se déroulera néanmoins dans l'enceinte du château.

This is an amazing castle and full of history. The Audio guides are really key to providing historical facts. There is so much history to learn and is a must see when in Edinburgh.
Melanie Boyd was a fabulous guide - not only incredibly knowledgable, witty, and brilliantly entertaining but she was also very considerate in terms of her groups walking abilities. Big shout out to Mel for a thoroughly enjoyable castle tour.

Our tour guide Gavin was very nice and knowledgeable. He gave us a lot of historical background with some humor sprinkled in at each stop in the tour.
We booked our tour with TripAdvisor based on seeing the positive reviews. We didn’t know about the Fringe festival when booking this, so did learn about this after booking. With the crowds in the streets, it was tough to keep up with the guide as a family with younger children, ages 7 & 9. There is a lot of walking and as it was fine for my husband and I, our kids got tired quickly.
Couldn’t find a ticket by myself because I booked too late. The tour was amazing. Gavin was our guide and it was great!

Our tour guide, Raj, was brilliant. His understanding of the background of not only the castle, but Edinburgh and Scotland was clearly shown in the way he told it to us with stories and humour. He also paid great attention to my 90yr old, hard of hearing, father by speaking clearly and ensuring he was close by at all times. Highly recommended!
I cant remember our guides name but I really appreciated the fact that he said the names, locations, and/or dates when he started talking and then again after he was finished. He was Scottish and had a Scottish accent but was clear and easy to understand! We originally were not going to go on a tour of the castle but they were sold out (Aug/Fringe festival) of tickets so we checked Viator and they had tickets + tour and truth be told I am glad we took the tour. Seeing the buildings are great but without some of the historical information behind it I think you do yourself a bit of disservice, unless you have done the research yourself. The tour is done outside of the individual building(s) but within the castle walls so once the tour is over you can go explore with additional information. We did the 10 am tour which was perfect because it allowed up to be done with the tour, have lunch and be outside ready for the 1 pm cannon. It was very very very crowded (Aug/fringe) but IMO well worth it!
Nice tour, super disappointed that the barracks were not open. A bit pricey for what you see, but cool. Got all the way to the entrance before we found out we had to meet our tour group clear down at the bottom of the hill.
