Description

Eagle’s Nest

Great trip to the Eagle’s Nest and surrounding area. Pick up location was very easy to find. Felicia was an awesome guide and provided a lot of history and background on our way to and at the Eagle’s Nest. Felt there was plenty of time to see everything and explore. They organized the payment for the bus to go up and the Documentation Center well. The views were beautiful. The history is obviously somber, but a part of history everyone needs to remember as not to repeat.

Excellent tour to Burchesgaden and the Eagle’s Nest

A long day but well worth the views along the way and from the top at the Eagle’s Nest. The museum was amazing as were the underground bunkers. Bea was a wonderful tour guide giving great deal of history along the way.

Great Bavarian Adventure for WW2 Buffs staying in Munich

The bus was in a nice, central location that was easy to find. Assistants were there to navigate us to the correct bus which is extremely helpful for a non-native in Munich. The double decker bus was extremely comfortable and the driver did a great job (especially on narrow roads). The guide was extremely nice and knowledgeable of the WW2 significance and history of the areas we visited. We had enough time to do all that was advertised (including lunch at Berchtesgaden!) and had easy to find rendezvous points to help us get back home. Wonderful experience! Would recommend to anyone visiting Munich for a day trip!

Thank you for your recommendation and for choosing Gray Line Munich. We hope to welcome you back for another memorable Bavarian adventure!

Eagle's Nest Day Tour

If this was just the Eagle's Nest I'd give the trip five stars, but I'm knocking off a star for a deceptive title. There is no Berchtesgarten tour, you simply drive through the town on the way home. The Eagle's Nest was good and was the tour guide Ursula, who gave some WW2 tidbits during her running commentary while leaving Munich and who walked us over to the site of the former Berghof, which is in walking distance of the documentation center / bunker complex. Tips: check the weather as I did, you absolutely want to do this on a clear and sunny day to see the stunning mountains. Also, leave some extra time to find your bus in the morning. They all leave from the same spot on the same side of the road but go to different places.

Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed visiting the Eagle's Nest and that Ursula's knowledge and historical commentary helped make the experience even more interesting. We're also pleased that you found her visit to the former Berghof site worthwhile. We appreciate your comments regarding the tour title. The itinerary includes a scenic drive through Berchtesgaden as well as time at the Eagle's Nest area, including the Documentation Center and former Berghof site. While there is no separate guided walking tour of the town itself, we understand how the title may have led to different expectations and appreciate your feedback. Thank you as well for sharing your helpful tips with future travelers. We hope to welcome you back on another Gray Line Munich tour soon.

Poor customer service

I never got there. Apparently they couldn't pick me up where buses pull up. I was in the same village where the eagle nest was but they wanted me to drive to Munich and take the bus back where I had my hotel and then take the bus to the back and drive to my hotel below the entrance to the eagle nest

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry to hear that you were unable to join the tour. As stated in the tour information, this excursion departs exclusively from our designated meeting point in Munich and does not offer hotel pickups or boarding at intermediate locations along the route. Although you were staying near Berchtesgaden, it is unfortunately not possible for the coach to collect guests outside the scheduled departure point, as the route and timetable are fixed for all participants. We understand that this was disappointing and appreciate your feedback. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you on one of our tours in the future under more suitable circumstances.
