This trip was more wine sampling than tasting. On arrival we were taken down to the cellar, given a brief talk about the wine production which couldn’t hear much of. Was expecting a proper tour round the cellar but then we were taken back upstairs for the “tasting”. We had 3 wines, a rosé and 2 reds with of course the option to buy at the end. The tasting was poorly led, we have done wine tastings before but there was no guidance on sniffing, swirling, or sipping, nothing about the tasting notes, how it’s made, what it goes best with etc and they also just poured all 3 wines into the same glass after each other. Lunch was nice, we had a pasta dish and then veal with polenta and coffee, wine and water was included. It was not made clear that the coach will drop you off at the top of road and you will then need to walk down (and then back up) a fairly steep dusty and rocky path to the restaurant. On the drive to the church, the guide said she had been in contact with the town office who said the church may not be open! When we got to the church, we had another steep walk up to the church which again wasn’t mentioned. The church was ok but nothing remarkable (we had seen more impressive churches on our travels round Lake Garda) and not worth the walk up in 36°C heat. Also randomly the lights would only come on if you put money in the box! Coach was uncomfortable, made worse by the fact the air conditioning had clearly been turned off on the way back and it was unbearably hot at the back where we were sat. Was not impressed the guide started joking about it being hot - when we got off the coach it was actually cooled outside than on the coach. There was an older gentleman at the back with us who was struggling and did not look well, we told the guide this as we got off at our stop but she didn’t seem that bothered with what we were saying. Wouldn’t recommend.
Enjoyable day, fantastic views, wine tasting was great and meal was too! On the bus for quite a long time but that can’t be helped, travelled from Malcesine. Difficult to hear the tour guide when on the bus, which was a shame.
All in all, the tour was well planned. The tour guide told us a lot about wine during the trip. Unfortunately, they were not always well understood. At the wine tasting itself there was interesting information again, but by a wine tasting we mean something else. There were three wines to taste, but that was only a small sip. The food was super delicious and consisted of two courses with water and wine. Great job 😊 Also the visit to the church was really worth seeing.
The trip was really nice and the farm food was fantastic..got a couple of bottles of red to take home. Well worth the price.
The 3 hour bus ride to and from the vineyard each way makes it hard to be objective about the vineyard experience itself There should have been more information about the length of the bus ride and the small seats on the bus I thought there was a vineyard at every town listed, there was only one vineyard. I could have made my way by ferry to the last onboarding location and saved hours which would have made the experience much more enjoyable
This trip was a little disappointing. Fortunately for us we were the last pick up and first drop off, but some people had a whole day travelling. The guide was great, funny, friendly. The tour was short and no tour of the place just the cellar. Which was a shame. The wine was lovely and the trip to the farm house was nice. I would say that the organisers need to advise that there is a steep walk up from the farm house that was not suitable for everyone. But the lovely hosts did drop them off at the top.
The whole trip was fantastic from the wine tasting to the meal at the farmhouse, but what made it was our tour guide Tomaz, absolutely fantastic he made the whole trip with his knowledge and sense of humour the whole bus was laughing at times what a man,Brilliant, thank you
Fight pleasant tour with amazing guide, delicious wine and super cozy visit to the “restaurant” to eat lunch. Recommended ❤️
The wine tour is fascinating with 3 wines to taste, a home cooked meal and more wine in a farmhouse and a visit to a very old church. The guides were amusing and knowledgeable. The only downside is the long coach trip, 2 hours from Malcesine, 3 from Limone, to reach your destination.
A great day out, Tomas our guide for the day was excellent and entertaining, the trip it's self was lovely, the scenery around the winery was stunning, the little tour amd tasting at the winery was great, learned quite a lot, the food at the restaurant was simple food but really good. I would happily recommend this trip to anyone, thank you Tomas for keeping us entertained.
