Fabulous experience and crew! Gavin was incredibly knowledgeable and shared willingly with the group. Each of the chosen wineries suited the group, would do this tour again.
Thanks Nina, great to hear you got all the good oil from Gavin.
Gavin was an excellent and knowledgeable tour guide. The tour was outstanding.
Many Thanks!
Gavin is an excellent guide and his relationship with the winery staff put the tasting experience over the top. Excellent experience.
Thanks Martha, really pleased to hear you had a great day with Gavin.
Gavin was a wonderful host and driver for our tour. You visit smaller wineries with passionate wine makers and get to sample some of the very best wines that NZ has to offer. This is such a great way to spend the afternoon and get around safely and have a good time. Gavin was knowledgeable and had so many great stories to share. Very much recommend!
Thanks Kendall, we really appreciate your review.
Gavin did a wonderful job of touring the group around and Karen was also very generous with us. This 1-star rating is not a reflection of the tour itself but rather the treatment we received from the owner. We booked the tour months in advance, provided the address of our accommodation, and requested a pickup at our location. The night before our tour, we contacted the company to confirm pickup and were told that it wasn’t possible. When we asked why we hadn’t been told that when we booked and hadn’t been contacted to advise us of this, the owner said she was too busy to read emails. She claimed we were “in the boondocks” even though it was only a 10-minute drive (confirmed through Google maps). We were too late to cancel the tour and so we took it at an additional cost of $NZ60 for taxi fare. Both Gavin and Karen were apologetic about the treatment that we received and Karen even offered to pay for part of our cab fare! The owner seemed indifferent. Be sure to confirm that you will be picked up before booking. We found out later that other tour operators would have gladly picked us up.
I'm sorry you felt I was indifferent to your situation, I genuinely was sorry that on this day we couldn't logistically pick you up.. It is unfortunate that I don't immediately see the booking location for bookings made on resellers sites. I had been trying to contact you for a few days to explain that due to logistics on the day we were unable to pick you up at the location you requested - which was outside the pick up area we service. We do offer transfers as do other companies but they come at additional cost ( the $60 taxi fare is a testament to how far out of town you were). On this day it was unfortunately out of our ability to do that. If booking outside the pick up location then we recommend checking with us at the time of booking. Great to hear you enjoyed your tour anyway. Thanks
We visited 4 wineries. Our guide explained the traditions, soil types, etc etc. involved in local wine production. Most winemakers did not blend to a regular taste, but got the best out of each year's harvest. Tasted a wide variety of types. We were merry at the end, and glad we were on a bus
Thanks Jimbo, glad we could ensure your safe passage during they day.
Our driver was prompt, friendly and very knowledgeable! We learned a great deal about the region, history of planting and current vineyards before we even reached our first stop!
Thanks Marla, great to hear.
We had an amazing day and Phil made the experience extra special! He was great at offering extra insights and taking care in getting to know everyone and their tastes and preferences. Couldn’t recommend Phil and his trips highly enough!
So kind!!!
We had an amazing time with Nic, she was very knowledgeable and friendly. The wineries- Forrest, No 1, St Claire & Nautilus were Amazing and the wines were sooo good. I work in a winery in California and the NZ wines were crazy cheap compared to CA!! Beautiful settings and a wonderful way to spend an afternoon in Marlborough!! Highly recommend
Thanks Jilly, I hope you brought heaps of that well priced wine!
We had a really great day visiting 4 wineries - Nautilus, Allan Scott, Whitehaven and Jackson. We bought our lunch at Allan Scott restaurant, which was delicious and all locally sourced foods. Nic our guide was lovely and we learned a lot about the area. We had a fun group too - thanks for the great day out! I would definitely recommend Marlborough wine tours
Thanks. Great to hear about your experience.
