Au départ du Picton I-Site, cette visite guidée du vin de Jade vous transfère en minibus climatisé dans la vallée de Wairau pour une expérience de dégustation personnalisée. Visitez une sélection de grands vignobles familiaux pour déguster le célèbre sauvignon blanc de Marlborough et d’autres cépages, en apprendre davantage sur la maturation en barriques dans les caves et profiter d’arrêts photos pittoresques. Chaque circuit est planifié autour des horaires d'arrivée et de départ spécifiques de votre bateau de croisière, ce qui permet un itinéraire flexible qui tire le meilleur parti de votre temps à terre tout en assurant un retour confortable au port. La visite comprend un arrêt pour le déjeuner dans un restaurant de vignobles (à ses frais) et, si le temps le permet, une visite d'une chocolaterie et un belvédère avec vue sur votre navire.

Itinéraire
Rendez-vous avec votre guide sur l'i-site de Picton après l'accostage de votre bateau de croisière. Ensuite, montez à bord d'un minibus de luxe et profitez de la traversée du col de Koromiko pour vous rendre dans la région viticole de Marlborough, pendant que votre guide vous indique des sites d'intérêt écologiques et historiques; Cette visite en petit groupe est limitée à 11 personnes afin de créer une atmosphère plus intime. Vous visiterez quatre ou cinq portes de cave (si le temps le permet) autour des vignobles de Marlborough. Dégustez leurs vins primés et découvrez comment le sauvignon blanc de Marlborough a atteint le summum de la sophistication, puis promenez-vous dans un vignoble et découvrez comment le climat, le sol et les compétences se combinent pour créer ces vins incroyables. Marlborough n’est pas que du sauvignon blanc: nous avons des rieslings magnifiques, un pinot gris fruité et fruité, du chardonnay cuit et non boisé et notre célèbre pinot noir. Un arrêt sera pris pour le déjeuner (à vos frais), mettant en vedette des mets tels que moules, saumon, venaison ou bœuf, le cas échéant. Alternativement, un repas léger de fromages locaux gastronomiques à accompagner avec votre vin pourrait suffire. Sur le chemin du retour au port, nous nous arrêtons à la chocolaterie pour une bouchée de chocolats fins confectionnés à la main. Vous reviendrez au quai de Picton au moins 90 minutes avant le départ de votre bateau de croisière.

Des navettes gratuites emmènent les passagers du quai au Picton i-site (ou à quelques pas du petit terminal d'amarrage). Nos vans et guides Jade Tours vous attendent sur le parking. L'heure de début par défaut de la visite est 9h30. Veuillez faire un effort pour descendre du navire plus tôt pour être au parking peu après 9h00. Certains navires arrivent plus tard et vous serez informé de l'heure de départ appropriée.

Long drive to get to wineries - so if you're in for that you might enjoy. Wineries were mediocre at best. Our guide was very knowledgeable just not that much to see and very winding roads.
Very sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your day. Picton is the only port that cruise ships can go to and it is 20 minutes away from the start of the wine region. We have 34,000 hectares of vineyards so there is always going to be some distance to travel. Sorry also that you found our wines mediocre. We choose wineries that have excellent wines and have a story to tell. This gives a 'flavour' of the area. One of our wineries recently entered 10 wines in the International Wine Fair in London and, quite remarkably, won ten gold medals. Our region strives for excellence and I am very sorry you got us on an off day.
Our guide John was so informative and helpful. We had an amazing day and visited some fantastic wineries including one of our favourites Villa Maria. Our lunch was sensational and it was so good to be able to be picked up from such a central location.

The wineries are beautiful, and the wine was really good. Did not realize that we had a long drive from the cruise ship., As it is a 1.5 hour trip to our destination and the same amount of time back. Our tour guide Gary was fabulous and I would recommend him to anyone.
Glad you enjoyed most of the tour. The wineries we choose are known for the quality of their wine and that they have a story to tell. The trip doesn't usually take that amount of time in travel from Picton to the wine region and back but we were experiencing extensive road works on the highway and that did slow things. A day with Gary is always fun so comeback and join us again anytime.

A fun experience with superb knowledgeable staff. We were tapped out after 3 wineries and really didn't properly appreciate the 4th stop, which was a shame, because they were awesome. The food at Spy Valley (charcuterie board) was top notch.

What a wonderful tour. Everything was clean, safe, and on time. Our guide and driver Marsley was fun, informative and hospitable. Visited 4 great small wineries including a great lunch at one of them. Plus a bonus stop at a great chocolate factory. 1000% better than any cruise ship excursion.

This is a perfectly timed excursion — a great experience and a stress free return to the ship’s shuttles. Marsley was a very well informed local guide who built an itinerary that got us to 4 wineries and a delicious lunch (on our own $$). We even had time for a stop at a chocolate factory before returning to the ship. The wineries were all smaller family-owned vineyards with long histories of winemaking in Marlborough. Each one had great wines and their own character or flair that make them special. We love the local history and storytelling that made Marsley a unique guide. You will not be disappointed on this excursion!!!

We had a very small group of 10 people that were very diverse. We all got to know each other and became friends. We went to four wineries and the chocolate factory. The third winery, they gave us a beautiful charcuterie board, which was lunch. The winery was very accommodating as some of the Group did not eat meat. The wines were very good.
