Big Al was our tour guide, and he made our day in Roatán absolutely unforgettable. From the moment we met him, he was friendly, caring, and incredibly accommodating to everything we wanted to do. We asked to begin our day with an island sightseeing tour and end with a snorkeling adventure, and he planned the perfect itinerary. Every stop was amazing, and the snorkeling experience was spectacular, with beautiful marine life and unforgettable underwater scenery. Big Al went above and beyond throughout the day. He patiently waited for us at every stop, took wonderful photos of our family, recommended the best places to visit, and made sure we were comfortable the entire time. His knowledge of the island, warm personality, and genuine care made us feel like we were exploring Roatán with a friend. If you're visiting Roatán, Big Al with Boden Tours is the guide you want. He speaks English, Spanish, and Creole, making communication effortless. He truly showed us the very best of the island, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thank you so much, Big Al! We can't wait to return to Roatán and book another tour with you and Boden Tours. Highly recommended!
Fantastic day in Honduras! Perfect day to see what the island has to offer. Iguanas, monkey's, rum, cocktails, great local sights and a lovely local guide. Worth every penny.
Fernando was an excellent guide! He was more than willing to take us wherever we wanted. When I needed some medicine for mosquito bites, he took us to a pharmacy and when I forgot snorkel gear on the boat, he drove back to get it while we were enjoying the beach. I highly recommend this tour!
My husband, my daughter, her boyfriend, and I just returned from a wonderful week's cruise on the NCL Escape. One of our stops was in Roatan, and after reading several positive reviews, we decided to book our excursion with Victor Bodden Tours. We are so glad we did! Unfortunately, our ship arrived at the port almost five hours late due to technical issues. We were worried that we would miss our tour, but to our surprise and relief, they waited for us without any problems. Our tour guide, Samuel, was absolutely wonderful. We had booked the sloth and monkey encounter, rum tasting, and an island tour to explore Roatan, and we were able to enjoy everything we had planned. Samuel was very informative, friendly, and attentive. He understood exactly what we wanted from the experience and made sure we had a memorable day. We never felt rushed, and his knowledge of the island made the tour even more enjoyable. The sloth and monkey encounter was a highlight of our trip, and the island itself is beautiful. If you're visiting Roatan and looking for a reliable, accommodating, and enjoyable excursion, I highly recommend Victor Bodden Tours. Thank you, Samuel, for helping make our family's day in Roatan so special!
We had a group of 15. We were assigned a private bus with plenty of room to stretch out. We did the sloths, monkeys, and macaws as well as a trip to the West End to a beach resort. The trip was amazing. Kenny was our tour guide. He was knowlegable about the island and was extremely friendly. We had to cut our tour short because our ship was late arriving and had other plans, but I highly recommend this tour and ask for Kenny.
I have been traveling with Mr. Bodden since 2008. always a good experience. One price all day.
The private tour was excellent because it was tailored to our own agenda. The driver knew exactly where to take us. He shared details and history about Roatan. He was gracious and knowledgeable. It was a great day!
Andrew was fabulous! Excursion is design for what you want to do and the time you're in port. The driver will give suggestions but he will do exactly what you choose. No hidden costs and no hidden agenda.
My family chose Victor Bodden Tours after seeing multiple recommendations on YouTube, and it turned out to be a very good decision. Francisco was our driver, and we were extremely happy with him. We were a party of five, consisting of two adults and three teenagers. We only listed the monkey/sloth sanctuary, the rum and chocolate factories, and West Bay on our "to do" list. Francisco confirmed those plans with us from the beginning. We didn't really know what else there was to see, but he made sure to drive us around the island and teach us about the local economy, the people, and the history. Oddly enough, that became my favorite part of the visit. First, the island is beautiful. The first thing I noticed from the deck of the ship was the mountainous terrain, lush greenery, and beautiful homes overlooking the water. It made for a great first impression. Once Francisco started driving and sharing information about the island, however, we got to see a very different side of life than the million-dollar homes on the hillsides. What I learned is that Roatán has a proud history and culture, and its people have adapted to the growth of tourism and foreign investment. Francisco told us about a fishing tournament that celebrates independence, pointed out local women who prepare large amounts of food and sell it under roadside canopies, and explained how tourism has changed employment opportunities on the island. He told us that before tourism expanded, he worked on a boat. Today, he is able to make a living driving tours and still be home with his family every night. I asked him several questions about the local economy and culture, which he kindly answered. He didn't give me canned answers. I felt like what he told me came from the heart. I wanted to hear both the good and the bad, and he was honest. At every stop, Francisco got out and walked us to the location. That included the chocolate factory, rum factory, and West Bay. We appreciated not being dropped off and left to figure things out on our own. The monkey and sloth sanctuary at the Bodden facility was a relatively quick stop, but it was very enjoyable. The monkeys were definitely the highlight for me. The chocolate shop was another quick visit, but we made sure to buy several bars because they were excellent and we wanted to support the local business. We also picked up some rum cakes during our stop at the rum factory. West Bay was incredible. The scenery was absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, we had to leave about an hour and a half earlier than planned because the kids got too hot. I sent Francisco a WhatsApp message, apologized for the change of plans, and asked if he could pick us up whenever he was available. He arrived within about 15 minutes. I was very grateful for the flexibility, and he never once complained about the inconvenience. When we visit Roatán again, and we will, we will use Victor Bodden Tours and hopefully have Francisco as our driver. I hope my tip reflected how much we appreciated him. He was professional, personable, nice, knowledgeable, and someone I felt completely comfortable talking to throughout the day.
Signed up for this excursion while in Roatan for our cruise. I was really interested in seeing the sloths and monkeys up close and my husband wanted to try ziplining. It was so hot but had a good time. The star of the show was Zethro as he gave us a private tour to wherever we wanted to go and brought us to many areas for pictures. We asked him to bring us somewhere for lunch where local food is served and had a great lunch.
