Definitely a hidden gem, and such a fun, informative way to learn about Bulgaria's wonderful wines. Just a few blocks from Vitosha Ave, and well-worth booking for a great experience. It's super easy to make a reservation, and then you'll have a private tasting with Alexander. We sampled several red and white wines from various regions across Bulgaria, and learned so much. It's a very reasonable fee for the wines, experience and the fresh, delicious cheeses (and crackers) served alongside. We bought a few bottles to bring back based on what we learned were our preferences. Highly recommend as a fun outing in Sofia.
We tasted all Bulgarian wines. 2 white and 3 red, along with a couple of nice cheeses. Alex was knowledgeable about the wines and the areas they were grown. Enjoyable tastings.
A pleasent dive into a recoverering Bulgarian food traditiotions. Å friendly and knowledgeable host and the best giat cheese..
The Wine and cheese was great - it was good to be exposed to indigenous wine varieties of Bulgaria and learn the wine growing arenas of the country. However during my visit the presenter did not know I was coming and as a result the presentation was often interrupted by other aspects of running his business.
Thank you, Jennifer! Next time I'll place a message by the entrance "Attention, VIP. Stay outside!", keeping my regular customers in front of the shop. That's ridiculous!
Unfortunately, we didn’t get a chance to taste. Our group of 4 wasn’t welcomed because we didn’t have a reservation, and there was another party there. So, if you go, know that the space is tiny and they take one group at a time. Reservations required was not listed on the storefront. Not client oriented, sadly.
I have to explain why someone, for a reason that he cannot explain very well, rated my product, which he did not have the opportunity to try, with a bad rating. That's ridiculous and completely unfair!
Would not recommend this, the guide was abrupt and not engaging at all, the experience only lasted 30 mins, a waste of money unfortunately
No comment! Speechless!
Alex was amazing, very well versed about the wines and has a warm demeanor. It’s like he’s your uncle you never knew you needed and had the coolest wine shop with such history.
Informative Great wine Thoroughly enjoyed. Cheeses were so good Felt relaxed and enjoyed it all. Pleasant way to sample wines
It was a very wonderful and informative wine tasting. Everything was from Bulgaria. I highly recommend to do it early when visiting Sofia because you will also get great restaurant recommendations.
We had a very enjoyable experience learning about Bulgarian wines that we did not even know existed. Aleks was very welcoming and explained everything very well, we tried 5 different grape varieties and 2 lovely cheeses. We were so impressed with the wine that we ended up buying some bottles to take home.
