My family of three was looking for a way to experience the Teotihuacan pyramids in a sustainable, authentic way, and Intrepid Urban Adventures certainly delivered. We were glad to make the trip on public transportation -- a great way to engage with and learn about the local culture. Our guide, Edgar, was knowledgable, flexible and kind, and the lunch at the local home was relaxing and low-key. The afternoon even included a stop at a local obsidian workshop for a demonstration from local artisans, which was so interesting, with no pressure to buy anything. The entire excursion felt so much richer than an ordinary check-the-box "tourist" outing -- it felt more like an off-the-beaten path adventure. Thanks, Edgar!
A friend and I took this day tour, and were thrilled with the experience! Our guide, Edgar, was extremely nice and accommodating, and made sure we were safe and comfortable at all times. His sense of humour, and his knowledge of both the ruins and Mexico in general, added great value to our tour. We especially enjoyed travelling by local transportation; it was a chance to learn more about our surroundings and the local culture. Highly recommend!!!
This was an awesome experience! Our guide, Roy, was very friendly, entertaining, and spoke English well. He shared a lot of interesting information. The Pyramids were breathtaking and he made sure we saw the third one which is a trek but well worth it (you are still allowed to climb it). After the pyramids, we went into town for Pulque tasting and to see different types of obsidian art. We then went to another town for a delicious lunch with a local family. It was fun to take public transportation with Roy as that was our preferred method of getting around Mexico City. Highly recommend this experience!
Went on May 9th to see Teotihuacan, and I happened to be the only guest attending the tour! The trip was super interesting and unconventional, we started by using public transport to go from the city center to a bus hub and then took an overland bus to go straight to the ruins - including some introduction to the surrounding area and vendors / musicians live on the bus :D. Arriving at Teotihuacan it definitely pays to have a knowledgeable guide and I learned a whole lot about the history and culture of the place, including opportunities to look at some in-depth archeology in the attached museum. Notably, we also visited a local shop with produce and the obsidian crafts that played a role in the history of this area. The trip ends with homemade Mexican food at a local home, which was very yummy! My tour guide was super friendly and communicative both in English and Spanish and clearly well informed about Teotihuacan as well as every place along the way! We went back on the bus and I returned to my place with no issues. Would definitely recommend the tour for anybody looking to see Teotihuacan based in Mexico City, this is the coolest way to do it!
An amazing experience! Totally worth it. Our guide was smart, funny and super knowledgeable. Five out of five. 100% recommend to a friend.
We had the most amazing tour guide, Nathan, who was both friendly and very knowledgeable about the history and culture of Mexico. I recommend him highly.
It was one of the best experiences we had in Mexico City. Public transportation was great, we saw a lot along the way and always felt safe. Thanks to our guide Viridiana. 100 points for the young, dynamic woman. Our guide at the pyramids, Susanna, was also great, she took us to magical places. Highly recommended. The communication beforehand also left no questions unanswered.
This was the best tour for what we wanted. The tour the tour guides and the experiences after the pyramids were awesome. Loved it all and highly recommend!
Had a great time! Julio is so kind and so obviously passionate about his subject material. It was a memorable, interesting, and lovely day!
My favorite part of the experience was the attendance of the Atibaia Residence staff. It is a large team composed of managers, assistants, attendants, waitresses and waitresses, chefs of kitchens, staff of cleaning and cleaning, recreation, finally, a team where each is unique in education and kindness to the guests. We are very grateful to everyone who made our stay a rewarding experience. Secondly we chose the menu of chefs always varied, with options for all tastes and all fresh and very tasty. The structure meets what is expected of a resort and, finally, the chalet that, although simple, accommodated us very well.
