Interesting history of the Curacao plantations and the art underwritten by the owners of this one. Jennifer was excellent. It was special to get a tour of the Cathedral of Thorns by the artist himself.
The tour was very insightful. I enjoyed learning about the Landhuis, May Henriquez, and other local artists. It was a great addition to other attractions.
This tour is a great learning experience. You are able to learn about the Landhuis, including its history as a water plantation with slaves, May Henriquez, and other local artists. Definitely worth a visit!
Passionate employees are proud of cultural Curaçao. The Cathedral of Thorns, the garden and of course the shop; all in all a very positive experience.
Wonderful!! setting of natural paths and amazing artworks. Tour with Jennifer was engaging; she is full of wisdom and a great storyteller. We highly recommend this site. We got to talk with an artist in her outdoor sculpture studio, learn about the plants & trees on the pathways, and end our visit at an amazing restaurant.
The authentic setting and surroundings of Landhuis Bloemhof breathe its rich and painful history. The art is overwhelmingly creative and the crown of the tour was of course the surreal Cathedral of Thorns! An enthusiastic and knowledgable guide as well a tour by the artists (Herman van Bergen) himself completed this memorable experience. A MUST for anyone visiting Curaçao!
This place is a little bit outside of Willemstad. If you have been there you decided to go there; you can´t just be there by coincidence. But: the house, its history, the park with all the art is absolutely worth ghoing there! We spent 3 hours there and were absolutely not bored ;-)
what a beautiful location for viewing changing exhibitions. Very diverse and the cathedral of thorns, the sculpture garden are also very worthwhile.
You do not need to be an art connoisseur to love this tour... Our guide, Ruthson, gave a very detailed account of the landhaus history and families. It was a refreshing break from the business of Willemstad to walk through this beautiful garden of art, created by local talent. Thought provoking and inspiring, Herman van Bergen's cathedral of thorns is a gift to the island's people and visitors alike. The walk is easy, along flat terrain, with added trails available. Sample local fruit fresh from the trees! Highly recommend.
We came to Curacao on a cruise only for a short few hours' stop. The tour was interesting and informative, but sadly we had to leave a little bit early due to another appointment. More time to explore the whole area and exhibitions would have been nice, but for a short stay this tour was definitely worth it.
Hello Mari, Thank You for taking the time to write this beautiful review :)
