Fun activity for when it is so hot outside

Fun cooking class. We helped make Charleston rice, cornbread and mixed berry cobbler. Martha was a perfect instructor and a lovely human.

Great hands on cooking class

My husband and I were looking for a local hands on cooking class with the low country cuisine. This class was great! Would do another class with this business!!

Réponse de l'opérateur

Lowcountry cuisine has such a rich and fascinating story behind every dish, and getting to make it with your own hands is something that stays with you. We would absolutely love to have you both back in the kitchen again!

Morning biscuits

The morning session was great. You cook with your group, everyone doing a little something, but fun. Learned a lot about the history of the ingredients.

Don’t miss

We had an amazing cooking class with Martha. And some lovely ladies from Texas. I finally think I will be able to make biscuits at home that are not tough and chewy and don’t get me going on the pimento cheese and Hugenot torte. I learned so much about the history of the food of Charleston and low country. I can’t wait to go back and do one of their other tours.

Réponse de l'opérateur

Barb, biscuits that are no longer tough and chewy is a life-changing achievement, and we are thrilled Martha is behind it! The pimento cheese and Huguenot torte are such deeply rooted pieces of Charleston's culinary story, and knowing those recipes are heading to Texas with you means everything. The fact that you are already eyeing another tour is the best news of all. We hope to see you back in the kitchen and on the streets of Charleston very soon!

Marvelous Charleston Activity

We had a marvelous experience learning to make three specialty recipes and hearing the history behind them. Our instructor, Martha, was wonderful---informative, efficient, warm and knowledgeable about both cooking and the history of the area. Would highly recommend.

Julie, three specialty recipes, the history woven behind each one, and an instructor who makes it all feel effortless is a pretty marvelous afternoon by any measure. Martha brings such genuine warmth and culinary expertise to every class, and the Lowcountry stories she shares alongside the techniques are what make the Charleston cooking class experience truly stick long after you leave. Thank you for the wonderful recommendation!

Worth Every Penny!

My husband and I often attend cooking classes when we travel. We find it to be one of the best ways to get a feel for the culture. This was one of the best experiences we encountered. Martha was not only a great cook but a storyteller sharing the origins of the area, the food, and many cooking tips. Worth ever penny.

Réponse de l'opérateur

Traveling with cooking classes as a lens for experiencing local culture is one of the most beautiful ways to see the world, and we are so glad Charleston's made the list of best experiences! Martha brings such a rare combination of culinary skill and storytelling to every class, and the history and origins woven into each dish are what elevate it beyond a simple cooking lesson. We hope the Lowcountry flavors find their way back into your kitchen at home!
