Very interesting experience! I learned a lot about Thai cuisine and the chefs explained things very well, I highly recommend it to discover Thai flavors!!
This was quite the experience. We first went to their people’s market. Then to the school. We picked our herbs from their organic garden. We were given a lesson in Thai cookings & did our own cooking with the best cooking coach. It was a lot fun.
Superb experience at this small farm not far from Chiang Mai, the owner and teacher is really great, funny, and friendly. I can only recommend it if you are in the area.
Beautiful surroundings, super cool guidance! Highly recommended
We had a great time. Even though we only had two couples, the chef provided a fantastic experience at a very affordable price. We shopped in the local market, learned about the variety of seasonings, and cooked a very high temps! The fire was amazing. Thanks for a great birthday event.
Never visited a market before and had the different ingredients explained along with how to determine their quality. Arrived on site to a large, very clean setup that’s very comfortable to cook at. Cooked a variety of dishes with chef with great technique and timing directions where you can actually learn something. All the food came out delicious — was our best meal of the trip. The value far exceeded the cost. Highly recommend
We booked our trip through getYourGuide, which included the Thai cooking class with local market in the morning and the sticky waterfall in the afternoon. The chef picked us up at our hotel and was very excited and enthusiastic at the market and we were the only two that participated that day so we got a private course. Pon’tastic was the chef who was amazing at explaining the different things at the market as well as the cooking class which included seven courses was definitely a highlight of our trip and I would give it five stars for the friendly atmosphere the amazing food in the authentic nature of what they offered. Seeing the ingredients at the farm as well as the different ingredients in the market was truly amazing. However, the chef could make or break your experience so I would suggest this tour over all the other others that are available.
There is a reason why it's name is the best thai cooking course! Permpoon is a funny and real good chef, really glad we took this course!
We had a great time with the teacher. We started on the market to see the fresh food and bought some vegetables there. After we did a tour in the garden to collect some fresh herbs. What a wonderful place and experience. Then we started cooking. In a relax tempo we learned the techniques of cooking with a wok. One of my favorites was the Khao Soi, and we made some other ones! The guy was very friendly and…. funny.
It was even better than my expectations which I would consider quite high alread. It was probably one of the best things I ever did. It was fun, the chef is funny and we learned so much. He also speaks perfect English so communication is great. I wanted to learn spring rolls but they weren't on the half day food list so we got to make them extra anyway which I appreciate so much! The setting was peaceful but lively in a way. The surroundings are very peaceful (rice fields/from) but the experience with the group and our chef just made it so much fun! I booked over my hostel and as far as I can tell the cost is reasonable in comparison to others. I know that for me it was worth every cent. There were other solo travelers and couples/friends so it was easy to connect with other people. I liked the morning class because it was still cooler out when we went to the market and the farm. The cooking itself is outdoors but in a big pavillion-style building. If I could I would do a full day class. It just wasn't possible at the time. We also got to do a stir fry with the fire in the pan which was so much fun (it was also optional), you could also do your stir fry without the fire inside the pan. Overall this was an amazing experience and I would definitely do it again!! The food was absolutely amazing and we also got to try some food from the masterclass that was cooking all morning next to us.
