It was an unforgettable experience, it was a magical place; from the moment you leave your house until the return, they make it unique and with a lot of love, the food was excellent. We were fortunate to also experience the Poas volcano, we mentioned it to Kenneth and even though it was not planned, without hesitation he took us 🥹.
Adrenaline packed with beautiful views. Amazing tour guide, very nice and caring. Thank you!
If you’re considering Jurassic Canyon—book it. It was hands down the highlight of our adults-only vacation in Costa Rica and one of the most unforgettable adventures we’ve ever done. The directions were accurate (we used Waze), our guide arrived right on time, and we headed out with a small group, which made the experience even better. The hike is definitely challenging, especially if you’re a first-time hiker, but if you’re reasonably fit or athletic, it’s absolutely doable—and 100% worth every climb, slide, and scramble. One woman in our group wasn’t physically prepared for the hike, and our guide went above and beyond to help her safely through the jungle. The rest of us pitched in too, and it became a true team effort. Watching how patient and committed the guides were made us appreciate them even more. Please, do not attempt this hike on your own. The trail is not well marked, flash flooding is a real possibility, and it’s easy to get lost. Our guide was constantly checking weather and river conditions throughout the morning to make sure it was safe to continue and whether we could complete both canyon locations. That level of professionalism gave us so much confidence. I almost canceled because the forecast showed an 85% chance of rain, but I trusted the tour company to make the right call—and I’m so glad I did. We drove about 1½ hours from La Fortuna, arrived on time, and started with our group. Three people decided the hike wasn’t for them before we got very far, and other guides safely escorted them back to their vehicle. That’s another reason this company stands out—they put safety first. A few tips: * Wear light weight easy drying hiking pants if you have them. People wearing shorts ended up with plenty of scrapes and bloody knees from sliding over rocks (which everyone does!). * Absolutely do not wear sandals. * We wore HOKA Hoparas, and they were fantastic—great grip in the water and on the rocks. My husband will probably lose a toenail (it’s black now!), but that’s more a badge of honor. 🙂↔️ I wore a sports bra and he went shirtless. * Skip rugged water shoes—they’re too stiff and slippery for this terrain. * A waterproof backpack worked much better than a sling bag. * A GoPro is the perfect camera for this adventure. Study your poses! The guides know how to hit the angles *Do this excursion last on your trip. Everything else pales In comparison. * Bring cash and tip your guides well. They work incredibly hard, genuinely care about your safety, and absolutely deserve it. This was one of those rare experiences that exceeded every expectation. We’re already planning to bring our adult kids back because it was just that incredible. One small suggestion—I wish you sold hats or T-shirts at the end, or add on to the package. . We’d proudly wear them for the bragging rights! Thank you for an unforgettable adventure. We’ll be back!
Brought my girlfriend on this hike as a surprise and we both loved it. We were the only mainly English speakers in our group(7 total including our guide) and that was no problem at all, honestly added to the journey this hike was. We saw monkeys, a toucan, trekked down steep hills using a rope to help decent, creep through a rock formation cave, multiple river crossings with the help of our guide as well as the help of others in our group, and saw the most incredible valley/ waterfall I’ve seen in my life. Though our guide spoke little English we were able to communicate enough and he tried to show us everything, offered to take some great photos and videos for us and we felt completely safe the whole time. This is the jungle trek we imagined when we thought of Costa Rica, unmarked trails led by a local who knows the place like no one else and can show us something most people will not get to see or experience with their own eyes it is amazing. If you are fit and want a challenging hike that most tourists do not do I highly recommend this. You will feel like you are in a movie.
Incredible service! It is definitely an activity that should be on your list if you visit Costa Rica, it is impressive how beautiful everything is! The service from ecotours toro amarillo 360 is incredible! Always attentive and providing the best experience.
Christian is the best guide. Very charismatic and knows the way well. Not only that, he is also looking out for everyone. PS: bring a waterproof bag, just with food, water, and sunscreen, anything. Nothing else will be needed.
Tremendous experience if you are looking for adventure and impressive views. My experience was with a great guide named Christian who was attentive to each and every one in the group, making it a good experience for everyone.
Amazing experience! Christian was a fantastic tour guide and allowed as to go as fast or slow as needed. He maintained safety as a priority while giving us the opportunity to take advantage of all the hike had to offer! Kennith was responsive to emails. Download the Viator app for to make things easier. Highly recommend! Not the easiest hike so be prepared for a strenuous workout.
Totally recommended, I would dare to say it was the best part of my stay in Costa Rica. The views from the waterfalls are indescribable. Regarding the guides, they are very friendly and you feel safe at all times. In my case, Kevin was a 10/10. Without a doubt, if I return to Costa Rica, I will repeat.
This waterfall hike was easily one of the highlights of our trip! It was definitely intense and challenging at times, but that made it so much more rewarding. The waterfalls and views were absolutely stunning and made every climb, river crossing, and steep section completely worth it. Our guide Christian was amazing. He was so kind, patient, and encouraging the entire hike. He helped us climb over rocks, safely cross the rivers, and was always there whenever someone needed a hand. He made us feel comfortable the whole way, and his positive attitude made the experience even more enjoyable.
