We booked a city tour in Colmar with tasting for a single price of €59 (€20 more than a regular city tour). It started with us having to search for the tour guide, as he was not at the specified location (he was about 500 meters away but not recognizable as a guide). Then, apparently due to a lack of participants, different groups were combined (participants with tasting and participants without). The guide had to step in at short notice because the originally planned guide had canceled. Thus, the guide spent the first 15 minutes and also several longer periods in between on the phone. The professional part of the tour was okay, although the interruptions made it not a complete tour. The paid tasting part consisted of us receiving a coconut macaroon along the way (like all the other tourists who passed by the shop). Then the guide bought a bundt cake (€12.50), and each participant received a piece - this could not be part of the tasting tour. In the end, we were led into a shop where there were some cubes of cheese and some sausage and bread crumbs. In the entrance area of the shop, this was also offered for free to all visitors. It may have been due to the circumstances - €20 additional costs for food that is offered for free to everyone is considered tourist exploitation. We submitted a refund request for 25%, which was denied. The organizer was informed of the situation; from his perspective, everything was going excellently. Thus, the impression remains that visitors are taken advantage of with this tour, and we can only advise against it!
The city guide in Colmar was excellent, very knowledgeable, very nice, pointed out many things to us, thank you very much!
A very good tour of historic Colmar with a great guide - Luca. She was interesting and knowledgeable. Maybe the tour could include a refreshment stop part way around, especially as the weather gets hotter during the summer.
Hello, thank you for your feedback We can indeed take a break during the tour if it gets very hot. Just ask the guide and the other participants if everyone is okay, and then we can stop for a few minutes—especially if the schedule isn’t too tight and there aren’t other guests waiting for the next tour. That said, we strongly recommend that you bring water with you during the tour
I had a ticket for a tour at 10:45 AM, but no one showed up. I only managed to get in touch via chat at some point, but the local organizer could not be reached. Everything was very frustrating, and I have not yet received my money back, €44.10!!

This is a wonderful, intimate tour to get your bearings and learn more about Colmar. Yves is a thoughtful local guide who takes a storytelling approach to teaching you about the area, in a very witty way too.
Hello, thank you for your comment. Colmar is a very pleasant city to explore on foot. We always try to show our guests the best way to discover the city, with all its unique features and beauty. There’s nothing better than a tour with a true Colmar local.
