Full day tour. Went great. Some free time and not overloaded with words. Just strolling and taking in the beauty, with some facts mixed in. Good value for the money. A nice little wine taste with no pressure to buy. Didier was a nice guy, from Colmar originally. Good local knowledge.
This tour was magical! Laura, our guide was knowledge and patient with us when we had to stop and take some photos! Everything was just so picturesque!
This was a very pleasant day trip, it was at a good pace and we got to enjoy the 4 little towns without rushing.
What a fun experience! The van holds about 8 people, and our young driver-guide, Laura, could not have been more friendly and patient. The day went by quickly, and everything was easy and enjoyable for all ages. Each of the towns we visited has their own history and architecture, but to casual tourists, they all look similarly medieval and enchanting. One was about a 25 minute drive, and the others about 5-10 minutes. The wine tasting was a fun way to end the day, although I might make a few changes, like adding a table, music and light snacks, to make that part more fun and relaxed.
Perfect way to maximize your visit to the Alsace region. Would recommend! Loved the winery visit especially.
Excellent tour Didier took very good care of us We finished very happy, highly recommended Fascinating experience
We saw so many beautiful villages, made a wine tasting stop and a stop for lunch recommended by our guide. We never felt rushed and our guide was very accommodating. Be prepared for a lot of walking!
Visiting the four villages was wonderful. Didier, our guide did a great job. He was friendly, engaging and informative. The wine tasting was good, not great, otherwise I would have given five stars. Though each of the four villages were enjoyable they did start to run together by the end of the day. If you’re short on time do the half day tour.
Make sure the van is actually air conditioned. Our guide, Christian, contacted me the night before our tour to confirm the meeting spot and to encourage us to start 30 minutes early. He said we could go by the castle with this extra time, an extra experience. Sounded good. When we met the next morning, he revealed that the air conditioning in the van was working “ so-so”, and that he would pay our admission to the castle as a result. Well there was no air conditioning in the van, and the four folks in our party (some in their late 70’s) almost died in the heat. It was 99F during the tour! Finally after around 4 hours, we decided to stop the tour and have him return us to our hotel. The tour operator should have cancelled the tour as soon as they knew the air conditioning was broken.
The tour was very well planned and we spent an adequate amount of time in each town. As it was a small group, we could walk at a good pace and see all the sights we wanted to see. The van had air conditioning which was essential during the heat wave and a nice break from walking in each town. Our tour guide Laura was extremely knowledgeable and explained the history behind each monument and town. She was also very knowledgeable about wines and made the wine tasting a great experience. Would definitely recommend the tour.
