Usually with hop on and off you can actually hop on and off---and switch between their tour routes. This is not the case in Florence. If you get off it can be 2-3 hours before another bus comes. The a/c does not work, and half the seats on second level were closed off because the audio did not work (cooler up there). I suspect they have one bus for the red route, and one bus for the blue. For the first time ever, I found this city tour a total waste of time and money and we've used this as a great way to get acquainted with a city all over the world! In Florence, just get a map and walk around or hire a private guide!!
It was difficult to find the bus stop. The tour is well worth doing. It is a useful way to see the City

It is a very quick ride around outskirts of Florence. I knew the busses could not enter the old town centre but there was little of interest to see or listen to on the edges.

We joined point 5 of the Red route in Florence and waited for the bus to pass, and ... nothing! No bus. Then we walked to point 9 of the blue line and the bus drove past without stopping because it was obviously full. We were forced to go to point 6, still on foot, and the bus was at least 15 minutes late. The commentary on the bus is uninteresting. I should point out that we regularly take this type of bus in cities in other countries and that, in general, it is always very well organized and the information is just as interesting. So a big disappointment, this time for a cost of 60€ nonetheless!!!

The pick up place near Santa Maria Novella station was a little tricky to find but the attendant was there waiting, and the bus arrived on time. The bus travelled quite quickly when possible quick which made the ride a but bumpy. The sun canopy made looking up at buildings difficult. The views over the city from the surrounding hills were wonderful.

Unfortunately, we were not able to utilize the hop on hop off bus as planned due to a collision that occurred when a car hit the bus head on. Fortunately, no one in my group was injured but it caused a major interruption of the tour and resulted in us having to walk to a tram station. The accident was NOT the fault of the bus driver and the police and ambulance arrived quickly. The one place we did get to see was breathtaking so I’m sure it would’ve been well worth it, had we not crashed.

This service was not worth the money. They only had one bus travelling around so you have to wait about an hour for the bus. It does not stop close to tourists attractions. For what you pay you are better off getting public bus. There were also 10 seats that were broken and not in use so there was not enough space for everyone to sit upstairs. Save your money get the public bus.
one whole side of the bus at the top was out of bounds with broken seats which severely limited the number of people who could access the top of the bus and let's face it..... you see nothing from the bottom! The staff were not very helpful, the air conditioning downstairs was not working and all in all it was not a very pleasant trip.
Bus was an hour late - later explained 2 buses were missing. Broken seats on bus. Staff under pressure. No communication or apology from local help desk. Transferred to other route at next stop so trip to Fiesole was nice. Broken audio outlets on some seats (poorly maintained vehicles). No offer of apology or refund. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND at all.

We took line A. The top of the bus had a shade and it really helped in the sun. Good value for money.
