I want to begin by saying the tour guide and the driver did a good job overall. Unfortunately we had a serious issue with a bait and switch situation that this specific “experience” offered. Once you pay for this excursion just be aware you will also pay more, and not just on the the daily tip additive which is very clear versus the other activities they don’t clarify aren’t included (which is basically everything listed in the itinerary). If you are considering this excursion reach out and request the detailed itinerary as they don’t send it until about two weeks before the scheduled trip… we were essentially forced into paying 450 euros more after we already begun the tour (on the bus headed to the second country is when we were informed). So this was the major issue, since we wouldn’t be able to complete the tour we already begun without paying this added amount, this is how the tour guide explained it to us and mentioned this is an issue with Viator they’ve dealt with before. After I reached out to Viator customer service they realized a clear mistake in their detailed itinerary listing (the group trip portion that is not optional and requires extra payment) and only offered a 50 euro credit which I still haven’t received. Anyways, aside from that the majority of the tour I would say is spent sitting in a bus since you are traveling quite some distances, bathroom breaks/gas station stops every hour.. about an hour for lunch, mostly fast food options at the stops or not enough time during the day stops to fully enjoy areas. Norway was also majority of the trip that was filled with some wonderful site seeing, probably only spent 8-9 hours total in Sweden as far as free time, and same with Denmark as far as limited experience. This is something that I find fairly typical though with these type of excursions that jam together as much as they can in a short amount of time, and I fairly expected it. I have used Viator twice previous to this Scandinavian excursion, and have had no issues as well as enjoyed my bookings. I take my time reading reviews and going over information listed in the descriptions thoroughly, and I highly recommend reaching out before booking anything from Viator for further clarifications on any itinerary listed after having this new and annoying experience.
I don’t like surveys before visiting my selected searched site.
The trip was perfectly planned! Lex was a very caring, professional and courteous tour guide while Silver was a safe and excellent driver. Couldn't ask for a better combination. Excellent work guys! Absolutely worth recommending!
The 7-day Scandinavia tour was absolutely fantastic—impeccably planned and perfectly organized! It covered the most exciting highlights across Copenhagen, Sweden, and Norway, with just the right amount of time to explore and soak in each destination. Our tour guide, Mirjam, was simply outstanding. Knowledgeable, personable, and incredibly efficient, she made every stop come alive with fascinating insights and fun facts. Her great sense of humor kept us entertained, and she even treated us to songs during bus rides! One of her most thoughtful touches? She even surprised a fellow traveler with birthday treats—it’s those little touches that made the trip so special. And a huge thanks to Silver, our incredible bus driver! His calm, skilled driving made us all feel safe, especially on those winding mountain roads. He was always smiling and happy to help—just one more reason the journey felt so smooth and enjoyable. This tour exceeded all expectations—highly recommend for anyone looking to experience the best of Scandinavia with a stellar team!
I bought an eSIM card for use in Scandinavian countries for a month from Lycamobile while I was in Denmark on June 4, 2024. When I bought it, I had specifically said NO to Auto-Renewal and got an Invoice in the email to prove it. It did work fine while I was there. After coming back to USA after 3 weeks in Scandinavian countries, I found to my chagrin that this company had been charging monthly after that. I sent an email to Customer support on Sep 15, and they wanted more information a week later, some it inane, on when I used it last and to what number (I don't remember). One week after, they charge me again. This has caused me needless hassle with my credit card company and trying to stop this recurring charge.
The best part of the trip was touring Norway, the glacier was cancelled because the road washed out, we wasted driving 11/2 days to get there, the train, & the fjords were beautiful in Flam, Copenhagen was nice, Sweden was good, Stockholm, Oslo, Gothenburg, the tour was good overall, our tour guide Daniel was good, it was a lot of time in the bus,
This was a fast-paced tour that gives you a little taste of each country. Our tour guide was funny, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. Pro tips: * If you booked through Viator, make sure you contact the tour operator for a more detailed itinerary and the costs to watch out for. Ask for details and the contact information of your tour guide. * Once you get the full itinerary, you can plan ahead during your free time. Personally, I would skip the Stockholm cruise and use that time to explore the city further. * Always be mindful of the time. * Make sure to pack waterproof shoes and some water-resistant clothing. Umbrellas are good but raincoats/ rain ponchos are much better. * You'll be staying at a different hotel every night. I would recommend packing to section your suitcase per day so you don't have to unpack and repack every single day. * Have a waterproof bag that you can wear in front of you for all your valuables and electronics. * The Norwegian fjord cruise has an audio guide that you can play while going on the cruise. Download the app with the cruise wifi or download ahead through the fjords cruise site - this will be the Naeroyfjord cruise * Most hotels will be inaccessible to the main city, except for the one near Oslo. You can take the metro from the hotel to the city after you check in, to get more time in Oslo. * If you want to save a little on food, buy your food at the 7-Elevens and supermarkets around Scandinavia. Your guide will let you know which hotels have food or not.
From the moment I pulled up to the hotel, I was greeted with grace and dignity by the valet team and doorman! — And Desmon, the guest services attendant, was phenomenal. Desmon was curteous, welcoming, and knowledgeable. After a long day of travel, he was exactly what I needed. And my suite was incredibly well-appointed and spacious. —- From now on Hotel David Whitney will be my go to in Detroit! Dr. Dickey
The Scandinavia trip was an unforgettable experience, filled with beautiful landscapes and memorable moments. Although there were a few minor hiccups with some of the accommodations, they were easily overshadowed by the overall success of the journey. Our tour guide, Miriam, went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. She was very helpful and resourceful which made the trip even more enjoyable. The breathtaking scenic views - fjords to picturesque villages—were truly the highlights, leaving me in awe. I would recommend this trip to anyone looking to explore the beauty of Scandinavia.
The views around Norway and Sweden were amazing, the natural scenery is like something from a fairytale. If you like long coach drives, this is the trip for you! Definitely would recommend going. The little mermaid statue in denmark is interesting to see, especially if you watched the disney movie... its nice to find out about where the story came from. My only complaints would be that goeugo demand "tips" or "service charge" for the tour guide and coach driver of €10 per person per day, then also charge €35 per person to take you to 2 viewpoints which are actually free to visit... leaves you feeling a little ripped off. The entry fee for a few of the optional activities is half the price if buying directly from the place you are entering. A couple of the hotels were not great, the toilet flush broke first time and we were basically told "thats just what happens" by hotel staff. Make sure you're ready to be on the coach by 7:45 AM Other than that, you visit some great places and see some great things. The tour guide Mariam was helpful and very friendly. If you have the funds, I would definitely recommend.
