Il y a deux quartiers chinois, l'un que vous voyez depuis une camionnette ou un bus, et celui qui ne peut être expérimenté qu'à pied dans les ruelles, les marchés alimentaires et les restaurants locaux. Un Chinatown, celui du bus, est intéressant. Notre Chinatown vous surprendra avec de nouvelles aventures à chaque coin de rue. Dans notre quartier chinois, les artisans fabriquent à la main Fortune Cookies. Dans notre quartier chinois, les artisans pratiquent leur métier dans de petites ruelles en utilisant des techniques transmises depuis des milliers d'années. Et dans notre Chinatown, la cuisine authentique animera vos sens avec de nouvelles saveurs, odeurs et arômes. Nous explorerons des produits asiatiques exotiques et uniques, des herbes et des thés de ceux qui les connaissent le mieux. Nous découvrirons leurs secrets cachés que seuls les habitants intrépides connaissent. Et vous serez étonné par les nouvelles découvertes dans les alcôves secrètes. Nous passerons environ trois heures à manger de tout, des dim sum, des biscuits de fortune, des thés et plus encore.

It was a good history of San Fran and Chinatown. The tea tasting at the end was cool. You don’t go into the fortune cookie factory but you get to try the cookies.

We normally do go inside the fortune cookie factory, but unfortunately there was an unusually long line that day, so your guide made the decision to keep the tour moving rather than have everyone spend a lot of time waiting. I’m sorry you missed getting to go inside, but I’m glad you still got to try the fortune cookies. Thank you for spending part of your time in Chinatown with us!
The history portion could have been balanced more with the sites that were visited. I tend to tune out when a classroom presentation is given when the richness of the environment is ignored. The food choices were well thought out.

Let me start by saying we loved Brian. He was quickwitted well informed and willing to answer off topic questions. The restaurants we went to were wonderful and the staff at each of the restaurants were more than kind. If you get a chance, book this tour and if you wanna have a great time, ask for Brian.

Had a wonderful tour with Brian, our hilarious showman and tour guide. I went with my teenage son and this tour is perfect for anyone: friends, solo travellers, couples, families, you name it. Let someone else show you the ropes, lose control of the planning, and eat the most delicious food because the guides know where to take you and you just eat all the delicious food (sweet and savoury) that’s put in front of you! You would never experience Chinatown on your own like this. Highly recommended!!!!

This was a great experience. I wanted to visit Chinatown but didn't want to just wander around. This was a perfect mix of food tasting and education. It was obvious from the beginning that Ryan knew what he was talking about and was enthusiastic about sharing that knowledge. He did it in a way that was respectful of the culture of Chinatown and gave us the opportunity to be respectful, too. The food was delicious and just the right amount and variety. This was my first food tour and I was concerned about being full before the end. There was no need to worry. From the 1st taste (a sesame ball) to the last (egg tart) I enjoyed tasting everything. I also appreciated the opportunity to support small business owners, including Ryan's. If I am back in San Francisco I know where to go. Be aware that more than one tour starts at the Dragon Gate and pay attention to make sure you get the right tour guide. I didn't know that, but Ryan was kind enough to check to see if I was in the other group instead of leaving without me. I would highly recommend this tour.
