Nous quittons Belfast et nous nous dirigeons vers le nord sur la célèbre route côtière Causeway - largement considérée comme l'une des meilleures routes côtières au monde. La route épouse le rivage avec des vues spectaculaires sur la mer et plante le décor pour une journée le long de la côte spectaculaire d'Antrim.
Un village de pêcheurs pittoresque et notre premier arrêt de la journée, parfait pour une courte pause confort. Construit au XIXe siècle, le port de Carnlough garde toujours un charme d'antan - à tel point qu'il figurait dans Game of Thrones, où ses marches représentaient la ville de Braavos.
Un des endroits les plus visités d'Irlande du Nord - un pont de corde suspendu haut au-dessus de la mer, reliant le continent à la minuscule île de Carrickarede. La traversée est facultative et nécessite un billet pré-réservé ; si vous préférez ne pas traverser, vous aurez une vue imprenable depuis le sentier au sommet de la falaise. Il est à environ 1 mile à pied du parking, et les passages à niveau peuvent parfois fermer en raison de la météo. Une pause déjeuner détendue à l'hôtel Causeway, situé juste à côté de la Chaussée des Géants. Dégustez un morceau pour manger et une boisson chaude à votre rythme avant de continuer le long de la côte. Le déjeuner est à vos frais.
Distillerie Old Bushmills : La distillerie de whisky Bushmills produit une magnifique « eau de vie » depuis 1608, ce qui en fait la plus ancienne distillerie en activité d'Irlande. Visitez la salle de dégustation pour une dégustation.

L'un des phénomènes naturels les plus populaires d'Irlande du Nord, les Dark Hedges ont servi de décor à la série télévisée à succès Game of Thrones. Il s'agissait de la fameuse King's Road de la saison 2. Les haies ont été plantées par la famille Stuart au XVIIIe siècle. Il était destiné à impressionner les visiteurs à l'approche de l'entrée de leur maison, Gracehill House. I can't say enough good things about our experience with Murat and our private tour of Northern Ireland's Antrim Coast, Giants Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede Ropes Bridge, Dunluce Castle and The Dark Hedges. Murat picked us up from our hotel in Belfast and was a wonderful tour guide all along the way. We really liked the fact that we could customize the stops along the way, including fitting in a stop at The Royal Portrush Golf Club to do a little Christmas shopping for the golf fans in the family. First of all I would like to thank John, our guide, for showing us multiple beautiful sights of Northern Ireland. It was a rainy start to our magical day. John picked us up promptly at 8AM at our hotel in Ballymena. Our first stop was the stunning fishing village of Carnlough. Our quest was to photograph North Ireland. Interestingly the start of our tour was where a scene of Game of Thrones was filmed. Fisherman were busy harvesting their lobster traps. From there we went to Cranny Falls in Gleenariff, a gorgeous unexpected stop. The whole drive along the coast lived up to their billing of one of the 5 best drives in the world. Then it was off to the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge and the Giant’s Causeway. I would recommend sturdy walking shoes as both destinations required a good hour of hiking from the cliffs to sea level and back again. Lunch was fish and chips in Bushmill followed by a taste testing of fine whiskey. Next was the Dunluce Castle and the finally the Dark Hedges, which was also used for filming Game of Thrones. John was charming and had brilliant stories throughout the day. I highly recommend using Belfast Tours NI for your customized excursion while in Northern Ireland!

We had a great day out with Murat. He picked up the 4 of us from our Airbnb and took us on the Antrim coastal route to the Giants Causeway. We stopped in a couple of small towns and viewing spots along the way. We saw dolphins swimming off the shore! The views were beautiful and Murat was a great guide, discussing history, nature, folklore, etc. Definitely recommend!

This was a magical day. Murat was the perfect guide. Knowledgeable about the area and very personable. Well worth the cost even though we ended up with only 3 of us. So much better than the large bus tours! We were able to choose our itinerary and how long we wanted to spend at each place.
