The crew made the trip a blast. The boats were always running 10-20 minutes late. More people than I would have liked snorkeling (several boats were there). But the trip itself was worth the value!
No. Should not have been out in This terrible weather. Too cold, too scary, everyone getting motion sickness. Terrible boat. Food was awful at stop. Golf carts were old, loud, bad equipment. Toured the :( part of the island. Your should have been cancelled.

The ambiance was great the crew so friendly, the buffet was great but the beach was amazing with long chairs to sit on
You get what you pay for - a fun catamaran ride and lunch. Staff on board are very nice! But you're stuck at the beach club unless you pay $60 USD for a golf cart "tour" of the island. We didn't like that there was no alternative way to see the southern part of the island, the food was okay, and the beach was all rocky. The north beach was very crowded, chairs and umbrellas can be rented for 500 pesos. We were more comfortable at our resort beach in Cancún. Wish there was more than 20 minutes of snorkelling, I know there was more reef and statues to see.

We were supposed to be on the family cheaper catamaran but when we got there they sold us on a bigger boat, better amenities, better food, and a private beach on the island. I have done the regular family boat in the past and really enjoyed so we tried the upgrade. Big Mistake. It is not a bilingual cruise and I’m sure a lot of issues were do to lack of communication. The food is exactly the same. The golf cart experience is awful. You rent a golf cart with them and they give you an hour as a group with a tour guide on one of your golf carts taking you to predetermined spots on the island. You can’t stop and shop, you can’t stop to take pictures until the group stops. They won’t let you go out on your own while every other golf cart rental place lets you explore at your own pace. The tour guide had a bad attitude and so I asked if I could get my money back and rent somewhere else. They said no. They did let me go off on my own after wasting 30 minutes of my golf cart tour time. So when I arrived after an hour tour of the island with my family I got charged an additional $37 because I came back at 5:30 instead of 5. The lady yelled at me for 30 minutes so I took the hour tour I paid for. The tour doesn’t take you downtown or to other little stops on the island. When I got back to the boat “Chimichanga” said all this was explained on the boat and I knew that the golf cart was a tour. I told him I didn’t and a lot of the other passengers didn’t as well. And for the extra $35 for out 3 people, plus the extra $40 island fee per person, and the $60 I paid for the golf cart. I should be able to see the island. I have also taken the ferry, family catamaran, and now this upgraded adults only catamaran to the island. The cheaper options are much better. I was supposed to do the turtle snorkel experience next but cancelled it due to this bad experience.
They will upsale you on a new cruise once you get to the property, they will talk about it being a nicer boat and a better overall experience with access to a private beach club. They do a great job of making it the better option. It has the same experience as the regular boat. What they don’t tell you is that if you rent a golf cart from them you will need to stay in groups with a guide and go to predetermined spots. They won’t let you go downtown or stop at shops. You must stay with the group. I’ve done the regular boat and the upgraded boat. The upgrade boat is nicer but everything else is about the same as the regular boat. The food was exactly the same. I enjoyed the freedom and the golf cart rental from the regular boat. The tour isn’t bilingual as well, very little is explained in English so there is a communication barrier.
The staff 10/10 treatment, but the drinks were cocktails already prepared in jug, they did not taste good at all, beer was another option. The experience at the beach club, exquisite, as in Playa Norte (there the time to be there was very reduced). Consider that, in addition, they charge a MANDATORY tax for passing through the reef, even if you do not go snorkeling, we had bad weather and banned the activity, but you still pay the tax.
Bring reef safe sunscreen. Grab life jacket and snorkel gear after loading boat to maximize reef time. It’s soooo beautiful
