Point de rendez-vous dans le quartier du Stadio dei Marmi à Carrare, rencontre avec le guide et début de la visite. De là, nous commençons l'ascension parmi les vignobles des vertes collines de Candia (célèbres pour avoir donné naissance à un vin à la dégustation fine et originale) le long d'un itinéraire vraiment spectaculaire entre la mer et les imposantes Alpes Apuanes. Nous continuons sur un tronçon de terre en montée et en descente jusqu'à retrouver la route asphaltée qui mène directement au cœur des carrières de marbre de Carrare.

Longer than expected. We started at half past one and were back by five. Therefore, plan for more time. There are free parking spaces at the meeting point.

If you don’t do this tour you’re missing out on an incredible opportunity to learn and see where the marble we all love comes from. The guide and driver was so informative and getting to learn about the mining process and go deep inside the mountain is something super special. One of the most unique tours during our 9 day trip in Italy. It was a nice contrast to art and Duomos. Seeing both the outdoor marble quarry and the deep mining was spectacular.

This was amazing! Being on the mountain, standing next to the cut marble walls, and then going into the quarries is a day none of us will forget. Our guide Luca knew so much and it was great to learn more about Carrara, as well. So glad we picked this tour!

Jeep ride is bumpy and steep at times- but fun! Such an amazing and interesting tour of how the marble quarry operates. Definitely recommend it. Tour guides are very knowledgeable.

This tour was amazing. Fill up the 3 vehicles and we were off! They gave good history, and current info, in both English and Italian. The Lardo is a must try. We had such a fun time.
