Wonderfully paced tour of the market. Great in depth answers and knowledge about the region and the food. Unique tasting experiences. We had fun and learned a lot.
It was such a good tour, easily the best of all the tours I took in Seoul/ Busan. Heeyoung clearly not only knew what she talked about but her passion for food really showed. And she also seemed to really enjoy being our guide which makes a huge difference - we all laughed a lot. We had sashimi at the fishmarlet directly from the vendor, a couple of ”street foods” and different types of kimchi. I can not recommend her tour enough.
I enjoyed it immensely. Heeyoung was cheerful and helped our small group bond right away. She has a unique insight into the food markets that would be impossible to duplicate. In the first fish market she showed us some regional staples and some that were very rare and seasonal. It was a nice vibe going with someone that many of the vendors knew and respected. She encouraged but NEVER pressured you to try things that I wouldn’t have picked but was glad I did. I especially liked the scallion pancake with spicy cabbage slaw on the side. I’d say it was a terrific exposure to the culture and cuisine of Busan.
OMG love your review haha
We had a fantastic time on this food tour, and it became one of the highlights of our trip to Busan. Our guide, Heeyoung, was wonderful — friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly loved by the local vendors. Everywhere we went, people greeted her warmly, which made us feel like we were getting a truly local experience. Her background as a professional chef added so much depth to the tour. She explained the flavors, preparation methods, and cultural significance behind many of the foods we tried in a way that was easy to understand and really fun. Every stop felt thoughtfully chosen, and everything we tasted was delicious. What stood out even more was how much she cared about making our experience great. After the tour, she sent us personalized recommendations based on what we liked, and one of them — a chicken & beer spot — became one of our favorite meals of the whole trip.
Awww I am crying here haha. Thank you for a such a thoughtful review :)
Exceptional tour, Heeyoung was a wonderful guide. She shared lots of interesting information about Busan through both a culinary and cultural lens. Several of the bites were among the best we’d had on our trip, she gave great recommendations and the knowledge to access spots only locals would know about. We will absolutely book with her again in the future! The whole group was fantastic too, our best tour of our Korea trip and one of the best food tours we’ve ever taken (we are avid travelers!)
Hee-Jeong is very passionate about food and was enthusiastic to share that with us. This tour was more about food than tasting food. We expected to try more items. The samples were small and it was necessary to have a full dinner afterwards.
Hello Lorene We’re sorry that the tour didn’t meet your expectations. We appreciate your feedback, though and we’ll consider your suggestions.
This was such a lovely experience!! As non-Koreans who love cooking and eating, it was perfect set up for us to have a Korean chef walk us trough these huge, amazing markets and not just educate us but give us samples of things to try — we wouldn’t have any idea where to start otherwise. Heeyoung was super warm, friendly, and knowledgeable, we had such a great time — I highly recommend! :)
We had a great time on our food tour. Our guide, Heeyoung, was very friendly and knowledgeable and provided a lot of background to Korean food and the wider culture. We tried some great dishes - the hotteok was a particular highlight.
So glad you enjoyed the tour. Hotteok for life! :)
Stroll around markets, learn insights about Korean food from a classically trained chef. Heeyoung was really wonderful and highly informative. Very highly recommend the experience of food insights from a local.
Highly recommend this small group tour. HeeYoung was nice, and punctual. We tried few different foods and walked through few markets. It wasn’t rushed, and she helped us buy things at the markets as well. She gave us other recommendations as well.
Pleasure hosting you. Thank you so much for joining! :)
