I booked this tour because it was advertised as high quality, but the experience didn't live up to that. The guide talked constantly but without actually sharing anything informative or well-prepared, it felt more like filler than an actual guided experience. Realistically, we could've just had a driver: the guide was supposed to be the value-add, and that didn't happen. There was also an organizational issue: part of the group didn't realize they had to buy their own castle tickets. I don't understand why the agency can't just purchase these for the whole group upfront, it would avoid confusion and wasted time. On top of that, the guide didn't even come inside the castle with us to explain anything. Overall, for the same price I could've rented a car and organized the day myself, probably spending less. I wouldn't recommend this tour to anyone expecting real added value over doing it independently.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are truly sorry to hear that your experience did not live up to your expectations and that our guide's style was not to your liking. We would like to clarify that, as stated on our website, castle admission tickets are not included in the tour price, and guests are responsible for purchasing them. For this reason, our guides are not required to enter the castle premises with the group. Instead, their role is to provide detailed information and historical context about the sights during the journey there. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are truly sorry to hear that your experience did not live up to your expectations and that our guide's style was not to your liking.
The guide was wonderful i can’t complain he drives the car carefully and safely he did not say a word about the history of the place i guess his role is only to drive and that's it but all he was very friendly and courteous.
Aurora our tour guide and driver were excellent. The day was long but well worth it. Be prepared to be caught up in very busy traffic on your return but don’t let this put you off. The scenery is beautiful.
Great tour guide by an expert on Romanian History and Geography. I did really got a profound comprehention of the context regarding the establishment of the visited castles. Higly recommended.
Amazing experience, Catalin and Nick took very good care of me and filled the day full of amazing times.
Long day but very interesting. No time to yourself to explore , both castles well worth the visit. Book ticket in advance for Peles
The Pele Castle tour was great. The tour guide Stefan was really good, knowledgeable and most importantly he tried very hard to accommodate all group members. He thrived in giving everyone a special attention.
We left Bucareste on time and arrived early at Peles Castle. Our small group of 5 skipped the line, avoiding at least 30 minutes wait. We bought our tickets online, but the guide managed tickets for those that didn't have them. The Peles Castle was really beautiful and definitely worth it. This stop took us almost 2 hours. Then, we followed to Bran Castle - no queues and we bought the tickets at the machines. I found this castle was more beautiful outside than inside. Around the castle there is a market with lots of shops. We didn't get a chance to see it, as our time in Bran was rushed, only 1 hour. I would have enjoyed looking around. Then, we followed to Brasov, where the guide said there would be a lot of shops as well. But we only had 1:15h there. There was very little time, so we had lunch at KFC (fastest) and then strolled around the area, checking the black church (outside, you needed to pay to see inside). We didn't see many shops, but maybe we were looking in the wrong place. We arrived in Bucareste at 18:30h, after leaving Brasov at 15h. The minivan ride was really comfortable and the driver was nice and responsible, we even got to sleep. As for our guide, Martin, he was really nice and gave us some history explanations along the way. He didn't enter the castles with us nor was with us in Brasov, but we were already expecting it. However, I would have expected more explanations/comments from him, and even some food/restaurants recommendations. Nevertheless, I found that I made the right choice in booking the smaller tour, even if it is a little more expensive (40€), than the bus tour. I found it really comfortable and without unnecessary waits.
There were a number of issues with this tour 1- never told to buy tickets in advance for the castles, as a result could not go inside Pelés, although I did walk around the city with another couple who suffered as well 2- The tour guide was simply not good, basically really only spoke Italian and it was supposed to be an English language tour 3- she provided very little useful information and just added nothing of value to the day 4- she even abruptly left at tours end and did not even wait for a tip, not that she deserved anything 5- I’m still convinced she was some sort of last minute replacement
We had a wonderful tour with Julien and David to the castles and Brasov. We were only 5 people in the tour. The guide was incredibly informative - giving a great overview of the history and culture of Romania. The trip was a long 12 hour day - but worth it to see some of Romanias beautiful landscapes and castles.
