I went back to Colombia after 20 years with my Canadian family and hiring this tour was the best thing we could've done. Aleja was our guide, she was punctual, friendly , and very knowledgeable. She did a great job managing our group, we tend to split constantly and she respected our wandering souls while also keeping us together and safe while in La Candelaria. She taught us so much of the rich history of Colombia. My family and I had lots of fun, and I left feeling very proud of my country. Thank you so much Aleja for that great experience!
Incredible private tour with Juani! Our tour was tailored to suit our family with teens and included the Bogota Kick Start Tour and Monseratte. Juani was super nice and we connected immediately! She speaks perfect English and kept the kids interested throughout with lots of food tastings along the way! We opted for the fast track at Monseratte and we were straight through the line, it’s definitely worth the extra during busy periods! Communication was spot on from our initial enquiry right through to the day of the tour! 🙌
I went with Vivi on a 4-hour "Rent a Friend" walkabout around the Palequemao Fruit Market and Chapinero one morning. Then went with Aleja on the Kickstart Cacao + Coffee tour another morning. We can't wait to come back to Bogotá and go with Zebra Fisgona on their other tours. They really do feel like visits with very knowledgeable and fun local friends rather than "tours". Just like real friends from the city, they also gave us really good recommendations on places to eat and things to try after our tours. Highly recommended!!!
We had a wonderful time on our tour with Juani - “Cacao & Coffee Experience + Candelaria”. Juani had a great knowledge of the city and histories of Bogota and Colombia. She was incredibly friendly and accommodating, picking us up at our hotel and getting to know us in order to better cater the tour to our interests. We booked the tour for our first day in Bogota - Juani was very helpful with tips and recommendations for the remainder of our stay! We felt less like we were on a tour and more like we were hanging out with a local friend. Juani’s passion for the city, traditions, and history is genuine and made the tour that much more impactful and interesting! Thank you, Juani and Zebra Fisgona Tours!
Great gals, informative and entertaining. I'm from USA so it was very nice to walk and learn so much about this beautiful city.
Thank you so much for your lovely review! We're delighted that you enjoyed so much our kickstart tour of Bogota. These messages keeps us motivated at Zebra Fisgona Tours :) Best regards from all the team!
We had an amazing tour of La Candelaria with Juani who was incredibly knowledgeable about Colombian history and culture giving so much depth to each stop on the tour which we truly appreciated. It’s worth noting she made the tour highly customizable so even if you have zero interest in history and just want instagram pictures she can tailor your experience to best meet your needs. For example we randomly passed a restaurant grilling a variety of meats, and Juani arranged for us to taste samples of all the different varieties after seeing our interest. She was also highly professional and an excellent communicator prior to and during the tour. She and Aleja patiently answered all our questions and even recommended the neighborhood where we ended up staying in Bogota as well as numerous other points of interest. So if you want to know why a beer is called a “Pola” and learn about the seamstress/spy heroine who inspired a nation, or if you want to take your senses on a smelling and tasting journey of cocoa and coffee or even if you’re just looking for the best street graffiti or perfect souvenir gift, do yourself a favor and BOOK THIS TOUR! I guarantee you will not regret it. These super friendly and knowledgeable guides will heighten your visit and make it a truly memorable experience!
Hi Xavier! We really appreciate you taking the time to leave us your 5-star review and with such detail about our Kickstart tour at La Candelaria with coffee tour. It means all the team at Zebra Fisgona! Hope to see you on your next trip to Colombia, warm regards!
This is my 4th trip Colombia and my 3rd tour with Zebra Fisgona Tours. Alé & Juani are amazing guides, super fluent in English, even more awesome people. They both care about your wellbeing pre and post tour and that you really get to know Colombia and its culture. We’ve done tours in Candelaria, the Bogota farmers market & Coffee and Cacao tasting. The tours are very well organized, with great levels detail, always on time and full off fun facts. The little things that Ale does during tours, like sending a pic of her waiting for you so you know where to meet up, washing every piece of fruit we tasted, had hand wipes to wash between tastings, water, pacing tours with breaks on uphill climbs (thanks to the change in altitude), helped us choose a perfect a Uber pickup point in downtown. Ale is also like a mini celebrity, with make hugs from business owners and downtown friends. I’ve never experienced a more amazing tour in my travels around the globe, highly recommended!
Dear Jason! We truly appreciate your continuous support and trust in us. Your 5-star review made our day and serves as a constant reminder of why we love what we do. Thanks again for all the great gifts! We look forward to seeing you again in Bogota and share a bit more of our city with you :) Warm regards, Juani and Aleja Zebra Fisgona Tours
Juanita, our guide, was waiting at the entrance by the elevator for us. She even sent her photo, so we'd recognize her. She explained more of the history of Columbia and Bogota as we drove to our destination in Candelária. Her English is impeccable. She took us to the coffee and cacao shop where we were to have our informative session. The trained baristas spoke only in Spanish, but she carefully explained all so well in English. We began with the cacao plant. It was broken and the seeds exposed. We learned about sucking on the membrane covering the actual seed. We tried the different stages of development to the final product. We were included in the process which made it more fun. We went on to the coffee production. The regions of production and types of coffee were carefully explained. We helped with the pressing of the coffee and could sample the two distinct types. The variances in prices were also carefully explained. I loved that Juanita, as a woman, is the owner. There are few women that own businesses in Bogota, or for that matter in many places of the world. She loves her country and praises its advances. She is ecologically sound. IF one is to take this tour, I recommend going with her.
Hey Llornie, thank you for your kind words about our Bogota Kickstart tour: Candelaria with Cacao and Coffee workshop! We really appreciated it. We love to read you had such a wonderful time with Juani and all the team. In Zebra Fisgona Tours we hope to have the chance to make you smile again! Thanks again for choosing us!
Juanita was my guide for this tour in La Candelaria and I couldn't be happier with the experience! It was one of my favorite tours I've done, Juanita did a great job of breaking down Colombian history which had previously been very confusing to me. The coffee and cacao shop was really great too! I tried one of the cacao drinks which was great, a very cool concept.
Juanita was amazing and her English is fluent. We are a family of 6, with 4 teenagers (19, 18, 16 and 14yr) and she engaged us all for 4 hours. She was full of stories about Columbia’s history and she knows a huge amount, is passionate about her country and wants to share that with others. We really enjoyed the coffee/cacao experience where we were educated about the cacao and coffee process by a woman who has set up a great coffee/cacao shop. Juanita was really generous with her recommendations and helped us navigate the city with ideas for the next few days. I would thoroughly recommend Juanita and her tour.
