Le Musée d'Histoire du Vatican n'est que l'un des nombreux musées remarquables du Vatican. Lorsque le pape Paul a fondé le musée historique en 1973, la collection était conservée en sous-sol dans un jardin carré. Ce n'est qu'en 1987 qu'elle fut transférée au rez-de-chaussée du Palais apostolique du Latran, et ce n'est qu'en mars 1991 qu'elle fut à nouveau rendue publique. Les musées de la Cité du Vatican ont été fondés en 1503 par le pape Jules. La collection d'œuvres d'art du musée s'est développée à partir des collections privées de familles riches pour inclure les fonds publics du futur pape et des papes successifs. En raison de la vaste collection des musées du Vatican et du besoin croissant de bâtiments supplémentaires pour abriter les œuvres d'art, le Musée d'histoire du Vatican a été créé.

Bought 10am tickets and they sent me 9am tickets. We woke up at 8am thinking we had two hours to get breakfast and get over to the Vatican but we woke up to a message at 3:45am saying they bought us 9am tickets. Why? I never got a response. So we got up and rushed out the door and arrived to Vatican exactly at 9am thankfully and had no problems getting in. Would not recommend using this service to others.
I book 11 am ticket but finally I got 11:30am on the entry date and make me can’t go inside the museum together with my friends.
Great that we had tickets sent direct so didn't have to find agent. Used the app also to store tickets. It was so busy, they let too many people in, so it felt very uncomfortable. We arrived early and they made us wait in a line for 9.30 entrance which was prompt. Felt a paper map would of been useful as using phone and taking photos drained battery. The art work was amazing, and Sisteen Chapel breath taking. Have used Viator for many attractions and felt very good. Using for Colluseum tomorrow.
Drop off/meeting place not clear. Lots of lines and was unclear what language I was booking tour in—paid for private tour, then told I booked wrong language so we did get ticket, but were on our own….have booked 5 other tours while in Rome and no problems—think there are different tour operators using Viator—not necessarily same experience for same places. Make sure you have actual pdf of tickets -not just voucher That being said—Sistene Chapel and Vatican museum amazing and worth any hassles!
Other travelers need to know all the information clearly, I bought my enter at 10:30 and they move it at 12:45 the only good thing was Skip the line
The visit to the Vatican museums and the Sistine chapel is undoubtedly a unique and totally essential experience. The place is stunning and worth it. However, the organization on the platform was not up to scratch: they changed our schedule from 11:00 to 14:00 with no option but to accept, which forced us to reorganize all day. In addition, we were initially assigned to a group with a guide in Italian, despite knowing that we were not Italian or having booked a group, which created confusion at the beginning. Besides, the difference in price of the platform with the official tickets...
Skip the line isn’t really skip the line. Told to arrive 30 mins early so I did. Stood in a giant queue in the rain getting drenched, only to hit the front of the line and told by security we are too early. Had to wait in the rain and then queue up again.
There is a long queue, it is imperative to book your tickets in advance but thanks to Viator, everything went very well
All right, fast efficient. The line is fast, the staff very friendly and the information is very helpful.
The title of the tour was "Skip the Line" however, that was not the caae. We had to wait in a very long line with others who also bought the so-called "Skip the Line". When we did make our way inside, it was a nice tour, but it would have been nicer with details associated with direction or order of the museum and chapel.
