Wat Pho, le nom officiel étant Wat Phra Chetuphon Wimon Mangkhalaram Rajwaramahawihan, est le monastère royal de premier rang, considéré comme le plus important sous le règne du roi Rama I de la dynastie Chakri. L'importance de cela est due au roi ayant réussi la restauration de Wat Phodharam, un ancien monastère de la période Ayudhya, il a rétabli en tant que monastère royal situé près du Grand Palais. Certains ashe du roi Rama Ier ont été conservés sous le piédestal de l'image principale du Bouddha connu sous le nom de Phra Bouddha DevaPatimakorn dans la chapelle principale. Wat Pho est un point de repère important dans la région de Ko Rattanakosin. Les visiteurs peuvent profiter des beaux-arts bouddhistes et de l'intellect thaïlandais existant qui est descendu des temps anciens, pris comme connaissance de carrière immortelle. I think the entire site is more grand than the reclining Buddha itself. So many fantastic temples and buildings that are worth entering, while the structure of the pillars gets a bit in the way to appreciate the scale of the Buddha.

Very good experience with this group. We had a driver pick us up at the hotel and transport us to the site. There the driver bought us our ticket and helped us inside. I would recommend this to others.

Amazing temple with giant reclining gold Buddha and pleasant atmosphere. Due to jet lag I left hotel at 6am to visit flower mart, then headed over to Wat Pho. I killed time watching sun on the river and over Wat Arun directly across the way. Decided to see if I could buy tickets early as planned to bundle morning sites (Wat Pho then Grand Palace) before my 10:30 food tour which would be tight since they open at 8 and 8:30 respectively. However to my delight, I was allowed in early! It was just me and giant reclining Buddha for some 1:1 time and an unforgettable experience. Within 10 minutes school buses of children arrived for field trip so really recommend you go first thing.

Go in a group. Solo travelers, like myself, get left if you don't want to go to factory to shop. Then you have to find your way home.

Our driver was an hour late to our hotel. Apparently he got lost. I sent a msg to the office several times. First I was told 15 mins late, then 30 mins late … finally driver showed up an hour late. This is unacceptable service. We were supposed to meet other family at Wat Phob who left because we were late one hour and they were uncomfortable standing in the hot sun for us . You need to hire drivers who know their way around Bangkok. Your service is unreliable and your office unwilling to refund even a portion of what we paid. We will never use your service ever again.

Ideal visit around 9am, side entrance to the site, without waiting, top!! The best possible conditions ... driver even arrived early for the trip from the hotel.
