This was by far the worst hop on/hop off bus tour I have ever done in any city. The first bus driver we met was aggressive and rude so we switched buses. There were large chunks of time when the audio recording was not giving us any information at all and then when the audio was giving us historical information it often did not sync with what we were looking at. The buses were old and not in the greatest condition. It was difficult to find the stops if you got off and tried to walk to the next stop. The signage was really small and the map we were given had limited street names.

The tickets language was unclear and the customer service is app was wonderful offered to give me another day. We just were so unhappy with our experience we didn’t want to give It another try. We have done big bus in lots of places this was the worsts

We're truly sorry to learn that your visit in Munich was less than satisfactory because of the service you received, the audio commentary, and the ticket information. Our goal is to provide an enjoyable and informative sightseeing experience, and we will certainly take your comments into consideration as we continue to improve our service. We're pleased our Customer Service team was able to offer an additional day, although we understand and respect your decision not to use it. We hope you'll consider giving us another opportunity in the future. Mihai R. @ Big Bus Tours
This could not have been more boring. It was so bad, I bought a 2 hour ticket and lasted about 20 minutes. Why? Listening to the narrative in the earpieces provided was the most minuteness woman's voice. "As we turn, look left to see this statue and right to see another" What was there was two wooden boxes covering something. And how many museums are their in Munich? Also, if you were on the upper deck, I was, the front window was fogged over. People wiped it down, but it didn't help much. By the third stop, I decided I needed to get off. I saw a good grouping of people and away I went only to find out that about a block away was the Christmas Market. Wouldn't it have been nice to the driver to share that? I enjoyed the market so much, I missed the 2 hour window of my tour.. Darn it. I've taken Hop-on Hop-Off buses everywhere I've been They are normally the best way to get an idea of the city and places to go back and visit. This was, without a doubt the worst ever and a complete waste of not only the tour cost, but also the cab fare spent to get to the starting point.
Hi Peter! We appreciate your honest feedback and for highlighting these issues to us. We're truly sorry to learn that your experience was less than satisfactory because of the commentary and the bus windows fogging up. Our goal is to offer both informative and enjoyable tours, and we will certainly consider your feedback to enhance our service. We hope you'll consider giving us another opportunity in the future! No explanation about route - as in, we “hopped on” at the Marienplatz stop, rode to next stop where we were told to get off if we wanted to continue on that route (the green line) and get on another bus. So we did, finding the correct bus. We had to wait for the driver about 10 or 15 minutes. Then once we boarded, we had to wait about a half an hour before we left. So, no communication about that, and lots of delay. We just wanted to get off at the English garden and ended up getting off a stop early because we didn’t feel like waiting around any longer. Terrible experience. Pick the other hop on hop off bus. Don’t do this one.
Hello Daydream19973920828. We are truly sorry to hear that you did not have a pleasant experience on our bus tour. We wish to investigate this issue further to ensure we can provide you with the appropriate assistance. Kindly reach out to us directly through chat or email at your earliest convenience. We anticipate your response soon, Razvan from Big Bus Tours.
The drive through the city center gives a good overview and you can see a lot, but the given info would need a revision in terms of the topicality (e.g. 1.3 million inhabitants?) and should be adapted already seasonally, because in winter you can e.g. not see several already scaffolded statues etc. But it is still worth it and is also completely fine in terms of the ratio price to performance.
Hi Alfred, thank you so much for taking the time to share your valuable feedback with us. I truly appreciate you informing us that some of the information that was shared during the tour no longer aligns with the actual sights. I will certainly send your feedback to our department in charge, and I can assure you that some adjustments will be made accordingly. On a brighter note, I am delighted to see that you have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and that you found it to be a great way to learn more about the city while seeing all the important landmarks. Hope to see you again soon! Warm regards, Anca from Big Bus.
Very disappointed!! Purchased one Sunday afternoon at 3p knowing the tour stopped at 5:45p and I was planning to go back the following morning to finish the tour. When I tried the next morning my ticket no longer worked. There is no customer service on-site. They state in many locations that the tickets are good for 24hrs. They don’t mean it!!!!
I have excellent credit. I tried to use my Visa online. Tried 3 times. Failure. So waited in line, used Visa, went right through. By then, 50 customers got ahead of me. Hey Big Bus..hire real people if you can't create a user friendly website!
Thank you for your feedback, and we’re very sorry for the frustration you experienced with our online booking system. We understand how disappointing it must have been to experience repeated payment failures online, only to have the transaction go through in person after waiting in line. This is certainly not the smooth and convenient process we aim to provide. Your comments regarding our website usability and payment system are very important to us, and we will share them with our technical team for review and improvement. We truly appreciate you bringing this to our attention and apologize again for the inconvenience caused. We hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a much better experience in the future. Flavius@BigBusTours
Don’t waste your money. We sat on the bus for over an hour and only made it to 1 stop. We were told to move to a different bus and it just sat at the stop with a few of us on it for over 30 minutes. I have no idea how they’re still in business
Thank you for your feedback, and we’re very sorry to hear about your experience. Waiting extended periods without making progress and being asked to change buses, only to face further delays, is certainly not the level of service we aim to provide. We understand how frustrating and disappointing this must have been, especially when you expected an efficient and enjoyable tour. Please rest assured that your comments will be shared with our operations team so we can review what happened and work to prevent similar issues in the future. We truly regret letting you down and appreciate you bringing this to our attention. If you’d like us to look into your experience further, please contact us via chat or email with your details. Flavius@BigBusTours
The big bus stops at all of the main attractions and the time between buses is just enough. Great drivers and the audio information is excellent
Hi Fay_S, Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us! We are grateful to know that you enjoyed the commentary and the service overall! We provide ongoing training for our team to ensure that you consistently receive a 5-star service. We hope to see you again on one of our buses in the future! Best wishes. Cristian T, Big Bus Tours
While the bus was a great way to see some of the main parts of Munich in the day, like many other complaints, the frequency of services means if you get off you may be waiting for a long time to get back on particularly the Grand Circle pass. The audio commentary was very helpful and interesting although the cleanliness and condition of the buses very poor, particularly when the company claims otherwise. I’d skip the Grays Line and go with the Red Bus alternative.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re pleased to hear that you found the tour a good way to see Munich’s main sights and that you enjoyed the audio commentary. However, we’re sorry to hear about the long wait times between buses, particularly on the Grand Circle route, as well as your concerns regarding cleanliness and vehicle condition. This is not the standard we aim to provide, and we understand how this can impact your overall experience—especially when planning to hop on and off throughout the day. Your feedback is very important to us, and we will be sharing it with our operations and maintenance teams to review and improve both service frequency and bus conditions. We appreciate your comments and hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a better experience in the future. Flavius@BigBusTours
