A beautiful experience for those who want to learn about the local culture, from the scenic navigation of the Chavon River, passing through sugar cane fields, a cigar factory, and cocoa beans. The lunch at the agritourism of the charismatic and eccentric Christian was wonderful, immersing you in the processing of coffee and cacao in his splendid estate. Super Jonathan, an experienced guide, is very knowledgeable, and it shows how much he loves his country. Highly recommended for those who want to spend a different day starting from Bayahibe.
I believe it is essential to know the history and culture of the country where one decides to spend their vacation, and Jonathan was an exceptional guide to better understand this fascinating land. He speaks Italian very well, as well as English, German, French, and Portuguese. He is very skilled at telling the history of the country, including personal anecdotes and funny episodes. The day passes pleasantly, and one returns home enriched! Thank you, Jonathan, we look forward to seeing you in Italy!
The Viva Safari tour was an amazing experience! Applause goes to our guide, Jonathan, who was absolutely fantastic. A person able to introduce you to the local culture in a unique way (to appreciate the fact that he knows 5 languages PERFECTLY). From rafting on the Chavón River to tasting fresh sugar cane and learning about coffee and cocoa production in the Anamuya Mountains, to meeting Cristian Melo, a character from another era. Despite the weather not being on our side we had a sensational experience.
The Viva Safari tour was an amazing experience! Huge shoutout to our guide, Jonathan, who was absolutely amazing. He was super knowledgeable, fun, and made the whole day even more enjoyable. From rafting on the Chavón River to tasting fresh sugar cane and learning about coffee and cocoa production in the mountains of Anamuya, every stop was packed with culture, flavor, and beautiful plants. The lunch was delicious, and the views were stunning. Highly recommend this tour if you’re looking to dive into the Dominican Republic’s culture with a guide who truly knows his stuff!
A day in the rain but full of life with our great guide , beautiful discoveries! An end on the river with dance lessons:) To do!
Very nice day with Jonathan as guide who is TOP. Thank you to him for his knowledge of the history of the Dominican Republic, his kindness, his good humor. The little extra pius is to be able to stop to give school things to children To be repeated without moderation.
The Guide was spectacular, Jonathan is 5 stars. He knows several languages, which is important for everyone to enjoy and understand. I recommend this tourist guide.
Safari trip - we got to know the culture. First a short party on the ship, then a theater with the church, cigar factory, chocolate factory, coconut factory, sugar cane tasting and lunch in the mountains with a wonderful view and coffee and cocoa production. Be careful, everything that was sold was up to 10 times more expensive. Our tour guide explained everything to us and told us a lot on the way. Finally we visited the Basilica of Higüey. We drove everywhere in a safari truck. Be careful, everything is open - very loud and windy. I also recommend taking a light sweater with you.
We left Viva Dominicus with a typical pickup truck. We first visited a cigar factory, the sugar cane plantations, tasted the cane and then took a tour of the Higuey market. Afterwards we visited the Haitian village and donated some food to the locals. We then headed to a Rancho where we tasted several Dominican delicacies. Finally we sailed the Chavon river on a raft and went swimming. All accompanied by Caribbean music and dance. I warmly thank Elva, who guided us on this emotionally charged tour, for her energy, the enthusiasm she conveyed and the accuracy of her explanations. I highly recommend a guided tour with her!
A wonderful safari!!! Recommended excursion to get to know the surroundings of Altagracia and Higuey and not live on the beach alone 😁 You will have the opportunity to see exclusive places such as Casa de Campo, sugar cane plantations, cigar factory, coconut oil and chocolate factory, boat trip on the Chavon river and the farm of that visionary character Christian Melo. Marvelous! Infinite friendliness. All always accompanied by the knowledge and friendliness of our super polyglot guide Jonathan Guilamo. He's very good, ask for him specifically and you won't regret it!
