Barcelone : Cours de cuisine Paella & Tapas à la Sangria

Description

Not as much cooking as we expected. The food was delicious but it was mostly cooked by the chef while we drank sangria and watched, which was also a blast! There was opportunity for people to take turns cooking while others watched instead of everyone cooking the meal.
Paula was a great chef. I learned a lot of new skills that I will take to my own kitchen from her. Please go if you get the chance.
Nina was an amazing chef and incredible teacher! The space is so gorgeous and the food was delicious. It is the perfect evening activity!
First, the class time was changed. Second, I speak English and Spanish but couldn't understand the "chef". Whatever she spoke, it was unclear by listening to her. However, the reason for this one star review is because it was a COOKING and EATING class and the "chef" had people cutting up seafood WITHOUT washing their hands. No clean hands, no gloves, WITH hair and jewelry IN THE FOOD. Absolutely disgusting to watch and "chef" Nina didn't notice, and didn't care once it was brought to her attention. Absolutely disgusting. That's why food preparation regulations exist. Skip this. There are more professional chefs out there. And the food burned.
We're sorry to hear the experience didn't meet your expectations. Regarding the schedule change: we notified all participants the 30-minute adjustment four days in advance through Viator's messaging platform. You confirmed in writing that this worked for you. On communication: Chef Nina has extensive experience in both Spanish and international kitchens, and this is the first time we have received a comment about her clarity. We work with local Barcelona chefs and have never claimed to offer native English-speaking instructors. Regarding hygiene: all participants wash their hands upon entering the kitchen with no exceptions. This is part of our standard protocol. Collaborative cooking classes do not use gloves, nor does any restaurant, and our standards fully comply with all current food safety regulations. We do want to be transparent: you left the class within the first 10–15 minutes, before the cooking and the meal were anywhere near complete. The remaining participants finished the full experience and left us 5-star reviews. We genuinely love welcoming people into our kitchen and sharing our culture. We're proud of what we do, and we stand behind our chef, our team, and the hundreds of guests who have had a wonderful time with us. We hope anyone reading this will look at the full picture.
Nina was a wonderful chef, I loved the experience!! Very friendly staff and the perfect amount of people in one group too, food was DELICIOUS💛💛
Went with friends and ended up cooking with people from all over the world, such a vibe! This isn't your typical cooking class, it's a real experience. The chef and hosts are super fun and welcoming, you learn actual techniques (finally nailed the sofrito!), and the whole thing just flows super natural. Sangria, laughs, and at the end we ate the most delicious paella we'd made ourselves. They make you feel right at home. A must-do in Barcelona!
Unbeatable experience! I went with my partner and we both loved it! Both the cook and the other boy were super nice, making the activity very dynamic and collaborative among the members of the group. We prepared very rich tapas and the paella was very good, pity that I did not take a picture. By the way, the space very cool, looking forward to coming back!
A great activity with a super lovely team. Looking forward to coming back to make a potato tortilla as good as paella. 100% recommended.
Brutal plan in Barcelona. The place is a pass: super nice, cozy and with that artistic vibe. It’s not the typical serious class: here you cook, chat, toast and laugh a lot. The team is super nice and close, they make it very easy from minute one. The chef explains great and with a great sense of humor. While you cook, you prepare tapas to go chopping and, at the end, you sit down to paella dinner at that “long table” where, suddenly, you feel at home: everyone together, sharing and with very good vibes. We left happy and eager to return. Highly recommended.
A 10. An unforgettable experience spiced up with good vibes and good cooking. Location, professionalism... everything super!!!
