This was a fabulous tour. The guide was personable & informative. He pointed out sites of interest on our way to the market, explained how to select fresh seafood, & walked use through making paella / sangria. And everything was delicious! M
Alberto and Gabby were wonderful hosts/guides/chefs! We had so much fun with a small group of other travelers going to the market with Alberto and then leading how to make Paella! The Paella made is the authentic seafood version — mussels, clams, squid, prawns. We made a vegetarian version, too, by request of some of the guests, but don’t expect a chorizo/chicken version (“that’s not Paella, that’s just rice dish” per Alberto) or the Valencian version with chicken and rabbit! Make sure you like or are willing to try the seafood to truly enjoy the food that you’re learning to prepare! We also learned how to make Sangria and a simple almond cake. It was lovely and a highlight of our trip! Thanks Gastronomic Arts Barcelona!
Trip advisor/Viator screwed up the reservation, but no fault of GAB.
Fantastic experience from start to finish. It was delicious and delightful! Gaby and Angela showed us the art and the process of cooking a delicious paella.
Such an amazing, intimate cooking class! We learned so much about the Spanish cuisine paella! The instructors were amazing!
The meeting place instructions confused us and we went to the wrong address, then scrambled to get a taxi to the right place, followed by a very rushed market visit that had us all feeling a bit overwhelmed. But back at the restaurant site we sat down for tapas and sangria and from then on the evening was perfect! Andy, our chef, was entertaining and friendly and ensured everyone was included and felt seen and heard. Really excellent evening with just the right number of breaks. Plus of course the food was delicious and inspiring!! We were 4 people and we all loved it!
Maria and Alfonso you did an amazing job. I would heavily recommend!
We had a wonderful time in our paella cooking class. Lorenzo (guide) and Kim (assistant) were wonderful. It was approachable and fun with our 8 and 11 year old kids. Memorable experience. Best paella we’ve had in our 8 days in Spain so far, and we got to help cook it ourselves. Highly recommend! Must do.
Lovely experience. Gaby was so good at explaining everything to us and including us all in the preparation and cooking. Alfonso was a fantastic assistant to her and everyone in the group had a wonderful experience- from the market purchases, to the cooking and then the eating and drinking! Salut!!
