Great tour experience in Bristol! Wonderful to hear and witness what the city went through all those years ago and how it impacted our beautiful city. Owen was fantastic!
Really glad we did this tour. Our guide’s (Faye) enthusiasm and knowledge of Bristol was outstanding…especially, in the air raid shelter. We had no idea the impact “the blitz” had on this area
Great experience. Would have been a little cheaper if booked direct. Good length of visit. Fay, our guide, was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable.
Our guide Owen was so knowledgeable and friendly, would definitely recommend if you wanted some fun knowledge!
A fascinating tour, with plenty of visuals to help imagine what Bristol was like prior to the Blitz and ultimately after the chaos of the bombing ended. Duncan our tour guide was passionate and knowledgeable- sharing firsthand accounts and historical facts to paint an intricate experience of life during the Blitz, and what waiting it out in an air raid shelter would have actually been like. Really recommend!
We toured the air raid shelters below St Nicholas Market on hot day in Bristol. It was a very informative tour with a great guide, Owen. He is very passionate and involved in this tour/museum work in progress. The group has collected tons of memorabilia and artifacts relating to the blitz bombings of Bristol. The tour shows the human side as well as the historical side of the bombings. Unfortunately for us Margaret stayed quiet for most of the tour. Keep up the good work!
Owen was our WW2 tour guide on the Air Raid Shelter Tour & he was so much fun!! He dressed the part & led the tour brilliantly. We had a really informative tour under The Corn Exchange in Bristol. He answered all our questions & involved the 15-or so people who signed up for the tour. We learnt so much from Owen & the exhibits were really interesting too. We would highly recommend this tour & if you are lucky enough to have Owen, you’ll have a fantastic experience!
Informative. Funny. A shed load of Bristol WWII history
Informative and entertaining, as a Bristolian I had no idea there was a shelter under St Nicholas Market. Lots of exhibits and fun facts from after the war.
Some friends had strongly recommended this tour and emphasised how good Duncan was as a guide. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour around St Nicholas Market and the air raid shelters. Duncan’s knowledge and friendly attitude made the tour really enjoyable. Having lived in Bristol for many years, we were amazed at so many things that we’d never noticed before. We learnt so much and would highly recommend it to anyone who can spare a couple of hours. You won’t be disappointed!
