The atmosphere can vary throughout the day, and at peak times there is naturally more movement and energy across the pools. For a quieter experience, we often recommend visiting during our off-peak periods or earlier/later sessions, when the Sanctuary tends to feel more spacious. In regard to the temperatures, our geothermal pools range from 37-41 degrees, we don't set the pools. In this instance, coming on a cooler day or alternating between the cold plunge or time out of the pools might be more suited to your needs. We understand that comfort can be very personal, and we appreciate you sharing this as it helps us continue to refine the experience. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back at a time that feels more aligned with the peaceful experience you were looking for.
Very enjoyable, the ambience was lovely. The hot springs were delightful. You’re able to experience all the different springs at your leisure .The caves were amazing.
Admission fee was exorbitant. We had travelled by public transport so didn’t have towels. $6 extra each for a towel and $8 locker hire which came to $134 for 2 adults. Some of the pools were lovely and certainly relaxing. The change rooms, lockers and toilets were spacious and clean. The area where the pools were was a lot smaller than we had anticipated. Some pools were way too hot and small so it did not help that there was a large number of (loud) people, especially groups. Cameras over every pool also felt a little OTT. Everyone was herded in at the same time from reception, which felt unnatural from the start. If I was to return I would go at a very quiet time, take our own towels and water. There were two water stations in the pool area but both had no water. That seemed a big miss given some people will overheat easily. We left after an hour as it was anything but relaxing. It was loud, noisy and sadly, over rated. A positive was each pool had a small intro plaque with depth, number of steps and type of pool. Some were difficult to get out of as only some had hand rails. The staff were mostly pleasant: but no one took the time to explain the set up and experience. Treated like you were privileged to be there but certainly did not feel like that !

Our model is designed to keep entry as flexible as possible by allowing guests to choose what they need, however we appreciate that this can feel like it adds up, especially when travelling without your own items. It’s great to hear you found some of the pools relaxing and the facilities clean and spacious, though we’re disappointed the overall environment felt too noisy. The Sanctuary can vary depending on the time of day, and for a quieter experience we generally recommend visiting during off-peak periods where the pace is slower. In regard to temperatures, our geothermal water comes from underneath the ground at 42 degrees and its dispersed into the pools varying between 37-41 degrees, we don't set them. Though we understand some may feel too warm depending on personal preference, it's always recommended to either have more regular breaks or alternate between hot and cold. We’re also sorry to hear about the water stations not being filled during your visit — this is certainly not the standard we aim for and will be followed up with our team. We appreciate your feedback around the arrival experience and communication from staff. Feeling welcomed and informed from the beginning is an important part of the visit, and we’re sorry this wasn’t reflected on the day you were here. Regarding cameras, these are in place purely for guest safety and monitoring, however we appreciate you sharing your perspective. Thank you again for your honest feedback. Sorely disappointed. The pools were ok but if visiting the area and considering this an activity, I would give it a miss. The locker room is unisex. No shampoo. Hair dryers at front desk so you need to ask for them. Salt room was not operational and no other saunas near the spa. The most minimal basic spa I have ever been to. If a tourist I would spent time and money doing other activities!

The space you’re referring to is our shared locker area, with private cubicles available for guests to change comfortably. Hair dryers are available on request from our team, and while we keep our offering intentionally simple, we recognise that this may differ from what some guests expect from a spa-style experience. A wonderful 2 hours spent with my daughters who loved the experience! It was not busy at all so it was a really special and private time.
Facilities and the layout/design of the springs themselves were excellent. We attended the twilight session on a Saturday night; if you’re wanting to try out all the pools I would not recommend as it was too crowded. We spent more time walking around trying to find a pool that had less people in it than we did in them. We ended up leaving the session early as we found you had to people watch just to try a new pool. If they’re insisting on the current capacity limit, a quiet bell should ding every 10-15 minutes for the guests that do want to try them all can move to another pool at the same time. I will try it again in winter and not on a weekend

Not as big as first thought. Relaxing. If prefer relaxing without screaming young children go to twilight
Checking in to the session took longer than expected, had vouchers and seemed to take a while. Clean facilities and friendly staff. Perfect relaxation place and highly recommended to anybody.
