Visite guidée de 2 jours à Tamul et Xilitla au départ de San Luis

Description

Very knowledgeable tour guide Isaac was wonderful. He took care of everything, driving, tickets, life jackets etc. Gave good insight for Edward James and had to change the itinerary when the Tamul waterfall was not flowing so they substituted two other waterfalls. Isaac knew the places to explore in the waterfalls.
We had a bit of confusion getting things set up but finally got together. Angela, our guide picked my wife and I up at our hotel in her sedan and we headed to Tamul, stopping for breakfast. She is very capable and professional. We paddled the flat bottom launch up to the waterfall with random other people, as the boats hold about 18. We all (the entire boat) had a wonderful time! Bring dry bag and water shoes. You will get wet. A waterproof camera/phone bag is recommended. Angela played camp counselor and it felt like we were kids at camp. The second day, we visited the Surrealist Garden of Edward James. It is hard to describe in words or photos. Angela is an approved guide and well versed on the life of James as well as the meaning and significance of his work. It all went very smoothly. Had we tried to rent a car and do it on our own, it would have been much more stressful, taken longer, and been a lot less fun as there were a lot of details an insider knows because they have done it many times and know what works best. I'd recommend this company.
Fantastic trip from start to finish. We split the trip, spending 4 days in Huasteca (jungle) followed by 2 days in Real de Catorce (desert). Both Alejandro and Isaac were great guides, filled with information about the area and interesting history. We were a group of 5, of mixed ages and abilities, and we were accommodated and encouraged throughout the trip. We felt safe jumping into waterfalls, swimming in caves and climbing mountains with them in charge. We ate well and travelled through roads we would never have found without them. One of our party left an important item behind in a remote area. Isaac moved mountains to ensure it reached us safely, and we will be forever grateful for this which was beyond the call of duty. Hopefully this last part does not happen with your trip, but we highly recommend Corazon de Xoconostle for anyone looking for adventure in Mexico.
Wow! Both days of this tour were full of wonder. Our guide/driver was professional, spoke great English, and was very knowledgeable about all of the places we visited. Las Pozas is a special, magical place and we were given so much context before the visit to really get the full experience. The water in Tamul is exceptional and the river adventure was exciting for myself and my 70 year old mom. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting SLP.
Corazon de Xoconostle is the best tour company we have had the pleasure of using on our trips around the world. For our tour of the Huasteca Potosina, Isaac and Alejandro were in charge of making sure that my wife and I didn't worry about anything at all. Their knowledge, flexibility, punctuality, professionalism and kindness made our experience unforgettable. Isaac and Alejandro ensure that your safety and fun are the highest priority. It is incredible to see the passion with which they do their work! Congratulations on 10 years to Corazon de Xoconostle and we wish you another 20 years! Diego & Jessica
No trip has ever gone smoother, with each appointment in an extensive itinerary timed so well. Our guide, Isaac, has all the connections: the parking, the hotels, the places to eat, the private off-hours tour of Edward James' private house, the Leonora Carrington museum, the Tamul waterfalls, and most impressively, the Surreal gardens of Edward James. Isaac's knowledge (across every field) is extensive, almost encyclopedic, but he doesn't feed you pedantic memorized factoids. He has a light touch, but great depth and a sense of humor. He knows the landscape thoroughly through his own lifelong explorations and his reading. He was truly an ideal guide, giving us space when we needed quiet or intimate time, and being friendly, conversational, and present whenever we didn't. If I plan another tour in Mexico-- maybe the Day of the Dead or cliff rappelling-- I'd want to do it with him.
This trip is an absolute must when visiting San Luis. The waterfall and cave were otherworldly , the food was DELICIOUS and authentic , the hotel was so cute, the tour of the Xilitla was a rich beautiful story and architecture, and it was all experienced in gorgeous vast jungles. The art museum is a must see by a immensely creative feminist icon! The tour guide was very educated on very interesting topics. The photos I took cant fully capture the vast beauty!
If you’re considering doing this tour you absolutely should! We got to experience so many amazing things on this trip and it was all incredible.
