Desde 1989, Espaço Talassa ha sido la primera compañía de avistamiento de ballenas en las Azores, fundada por un marinero Francés y una antigua familia ballenera de Azores, arraigada en la historia misma de estas aguas. Localizamos los cetáceos utilizando las mismas torres de vigilancia tradicionales que una vez guiaron a los cazadores de ballenas de Lajes do Pico, combinadas con hidrófonos a bordo. Sus biólogos marinos comparten un conocimiento genuino de las especies, su comportamiento y el océano que habitan. Grupos reducidos, tiempo sin prisas en el mar, y un profundo respeto por los animales y el lugar. Esto no es un espectáculo, es un encuentro. La naturaleza primero, siempre.

There was a great introduction, after which we were in the best hands with Becky, who gave us many explanations along the way, and with João, who drove the inflatable boat. The trip itself was already an experience, but when we also saw sperm whales, a fin whale, and 2 different groups of dolphins, it was a highlight of a very special kind. The team always kept the well-being of the animals in mind so that they were not exposed to any stress. Thank you very much!

We booked with Espaco Talassa because we knew they were well-regarded and did a lot to protect and respect the animals. Our experience was fantastic! The zodiacs provided a small-group and up-close look at dolphins and we ended up seeing 6 species of whales and dolphins on the trip. The staff was super-friendly and our time with them was one of the highlights of our time in the Azores.

We had a very good guide, Jonas, who was able to tell us a lot about whales and dolphins. The tour was in German, there were only 12 people + skipper and guide on the boat, so everyone could see and hear well. Care was taken to maintain sufficient distance from the animals, yet many dolphins and also a few sperm whales could be observed. Finally, there was a professional explanation of the species seen. Clear recommendation and much success for your future work!!!
