Silvia was incredibly knowledgeable and wonderful with kids. She kept mine (13 & 11) engaged the entire time. They especially loved the scavenger hunt she organized. She even gave them prizes at the end, which made them so happy. I’m really glad we hired her because the Museum of Anthropology is huge, and she helped us truly understand and enjoy what we were seeing. Highly recommend her, especially for families!
Excellent option!!! Silvia is a person who knows history and has the ability to capture the interests of visitors and take them to see pieces that interest her. Good communicator
Sylvia was an outstanding guide at the National Museum of Anthropology. She did a fantastic job keeping our kids (ages 12 and 10) engaged throughout the tour, which is not easy in such a large museum. She explained the history and artifacts in a way that was interesting, interactive, and easy for them to understand, while still being informative for the adults. Sylvia was patient, enthusiastic, and clearly very knowledgeable. She pointed out details we never would have noticed on our own and shared great stories that brought the exhibits to life. Our kids stayed interested the entire time, which says a lot. We highly recommend Sylvia to any families visiting the museum, especially those touring with children. She made the experience memorable for all of us.
Sylvia is a gem! She made our trip to the Archeological Museum understandable and relatable. She put things in context which helped us understand how everything was interconnected. She presented the information in a cogent and enthusiastic way. This is one of the best museum tours we have ever taken.
This is an incredible tour! Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable about mesoAmerican history. Her excitement about anthropology was infectious. She curated the overwhelming amount of information at the museum very effectively to ensure we had the most engaging visit possible. She even tailored the museum tour to areas we would be visiting on our trip to Mexico to make the tour more meaningful for us. She was a font of fascinating information, but also took the time to answer all of our questions thoughtfully. We could not have had a better tour of the anthropology museum. The anthropology museum is huge, with a dense amount of fascinating information. Taking a longer tour with an expert guide really helped us get the most out of the museum.
Everything I can say about Silvia is little, so I will sum it up by saying that my memory of Mexico City will always be associated with the three tours she offered us: all different, all done with passion, knowledge and professionalism. And very much so! The first day we were shown the Zocalo, the Cathedral, the tile house, the murals of the Palace of Fine Arts... The second day we also had a driver (Fede, very attentive and helpful) and we could enjoy Xochimilco, the House of Frida Kahlo and Coyoacán, the Anauhacalli museum... The third day we dedicated to the anthropological museum and Chapultepec castle. At the end of the three days we felt we knew the history and culture of Mexico. His advice also helped us plan the rest of our time in the city. In short, I recommend Silvia Luz 100%.
As two history nerds we were so happy to find a fellow nerd in Sylvia. She has this enthusiasm not only for the facts and history, but for how it applies to us today. The tour was an incredible back and forth conversation where our curiosity fueled her energy. It’s not some cookie-cutter tour that she just sleep-walks through. She manages to make ancient history fresh and feel alive. As a couple who rarely takes tours bc they tend to be very surface level and “touristy”, I can’t recommend any tour with Sylvia enough. We are so grateful for the Emerson’s experience we had with her and hope to return to try her other offerings. If you’re looking for a tour of this museum, THIS IS THE ONE!
Silvia was terrific! Great enthusiasm and knowledge, and she engaged the whole group, including the kids.
Sylvia was a fabulous guide for the Anthropology Museum. Not only was she extremely knowledgeable, but she was articulate, helpful and engaging. She involved us by asking us to describe what we were seeing in the museum exhibits. Her enthusiasm for history and culture was infectious. And to top it off, she is a lovely and fun person. I would and will recommend her to friends who travel to Mexico City.
Silvia was an excellent guide. I'd heard the Museum can be overwhelming, with little English signage. Being an historian, Silvia expertly covered the history of Mexico sharing fascinating insights, answering questions and making the mass of exhibits relatable. I highly recommend her as a guide to this amazing must visit museum. Thank you Silvia.
