Descubre el Museo de manos de una guía local profesional licenciada en Historia del arte por la Universidad del Pais Vasco. Estas dos horas de visita serán muy completas y amenas porque no solo se visitarán las exposiciones del momento, se hará un recorrido por su exterior disfrutando de las mejores perspectivas de su arquitectura y además se intercalará información sobre el motivo de Bilbao como lugar elegido para su construcción. Dentro del edificio visitaremos las colecciones permanentes y temporales accediendo a ellas por lugares diferentes para poder apreciar su imagen interior desde todas sus perspectivas. Como es imposible poder visitar todo el museo en su totalidad, al final del recorrido se orientará para poder recorrer el resto libremente, ya que la entrada permite volver a visitar el museo de nuevo durante el mismo día.

Itinerario
Empezaremos recorriendo el exterior e interior del museo, haciendo una breve introducción sobre el origen de Bilbao y cómo fue la ciudad elegida para poder albergar el último gran museo del siglo XX. Hablaremos de su arquitectura y de su arquitecto Frank Ghery en su espectacular atrio, desde allí veremos su exterior hablando de las esculturas y que forman parte de su entorno. Seguidamente iremos a ver las exposiciones temporales que se exhiben, profundizando en las obras, sus autores, en sus tendencias artísticas y aspectos que pueden ser interesantes para entender mejor las exposiciones. La finalidad de la experiencia es acercarnos más al mundo del arte, en especial al arte contemporáneo, e intentar que no sea desconocido para nosotros.

The visit covers not only the architechtural features of the museum and its main installations, but it touches the recent history of Bilbao and the origin of the Guggenheim project

Fabulous architecture to a building. Enjoyed viewing the sculptures outside. Only 2 of the 3 floors were showing exhibits. Good place to visit if you like contemporary art. €12 per adult. Can use the city tour bus if you don’t want to walk. Option of having a guided tour but not really needed
