A este encantador lugar se llega subiendo 241 escalones entre el mar y la roca, ofreciendo impresionantes vistas de la costa vasca. A continuación, el tour se dirige a Mundaka, un encantador pueblo pesquero ubicado en el corazón de la Reserva de la Biosfera de Urdaibai. Conocida por su famosa ola de la izquierda que atrae a los surfistas de todo el mundo, Mundaka también cautiva a los visitantes con su rico patrimonio marítimo. En cualquier caso, se recomienda tomar medidas de autoprotección, como llevar calzado cómodo y adecuado, protegerse del sol y mantenerse hidratado adecuadamente.

It is perhaps obvious from the description but should be stated upfront that this is a very demanding hike down to what is referred to here as Dragonstone. We and eight others did not take the hike and we were taken to the nearby town for a very quick visit. For a group of almost fifty there should have been a 2nd guide to share the Spanish/English description. Most tours of this length and cost would offer cold water as a courtesy. Lunch was rushed, had to walk down from the drop-off point in Mundaka, which felt like a forced march, a half hour to find food where there were limited options, and back up to the bus. I was taken aback that there was no interaction or introduction of the bus driver. Usually the guide and bus driver make an effort to be more of a team.
Very beautiful places, but the first part of the journey to Gaztelugatxe was very tiring. The time given to visit it is short. Furthermore, our guide did not come with us. Mundaka and Guernica are beautiful and quieter! However, I would have preferred to spend more time in Guernica. All in all I liked the tour a lot but arm yourselves with comfortable clothes suitable for Gaztelugatxe!

That the climbing and descending to the hermitage is a hard thing and can cause knee ailment, which we learned before it from the guide.

Javier was a great Tour Guide who is very knowledgeable, personable, and accommodating. This is an excellent tour, but to get to the top of San Juan de Gaztelugatxe (Dragonstone) definitely takes an effort, but it is worth it. I recommend bringing lots of water, a hand towel, and an extra shirt for this portion of the tour. Learning about Guernica and what happened to it prior to WWII, was eye opening. Also I have to give kudos to our driver Enrique, who was also excellent.
Asier was a fantastic guide! Super knowledgeable about all the places we visited and took time to talk to everyone on the tour while keeping things moving and entertaining. The tour itself was well paced and a great way to see some nature, history, and local culture outside of Bilbao. Would recommend!

The tour description did not clearly describe how strenuous the activity is, especially the hike to view dragonstone. I’d suspect it was just me, but other guests made the same comment as we struggled to complete the activity.
This was an amazing experience. Our tour guide Susanne was delightful. I would highly recommend this tour.
