This ended up being a family favorite of all Of our Hawai’i excursions! (We also visited Oahu and Maui) and we all hands down agreed that Mason absolutely made it what it was! He is witty and his knowledge is over the top. He kept us laughing. We had a group of 65 yr old grandparents, a couple in their 30’s, and a family of 4 with 11 and 13 yr old boys. So we spanned all age ranges and interests. You truly get A LOT of chocolate tasting, as well as honey and fruits. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Kauai , for an over arching agricultural and food experience of Hawaii ! Only ONE downfall… The port o potty restrooms 😷🤢
The farm tour was so interesting! We learned about various fruits and how different the various chocolates taste! It was an enjoyable day! Would absolutely do it again!
Time actually flew. Was really beautiful and educational along with a fun tasting experience. They did a great job to be prepared for any kind of weather or disability.
We needed an activity while waiting to get to the airport. This was an extensive tour of how chocolate is made. It might be too long for some people with children. We thoroughly enjoyed all the educational information.
Mel our guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining. We learned so much!
This was a truly unique experience that I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Hawaii. I learned so much about the chocolate-making process and had the chance to sample delicious, exotic fruits along the way. The absolute highlight was trying a raw cocoa bean straight from the pod—it was nothing like I expected! Our guide, Henry, was incredibly knowledgeable and kept the tour perfectly paced, making the experience both educational and engaging from start to finish. If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind activity that you can only find here, this is it!
We really liked Lydgate Chocolate Tour! Our guide was Henry and he was very knowledgeable and friendly. He was an expert in all sorts of plants that grow in Hawaii, including cacao, vanilla, soursop, dragonfruit, papaya, and many other tropical fruit. We enjoyed many chocolate and cacao sample tastings, and also got to taste different tropical fruits. Our favorite fruit was soursop which we have never tried before. Everyone in the family had a different favorite Lydgate chocolate product because they are all delicious.
The tour was amazing. Sheri is a wealth of knowledge. She gave us an indulgent experience, sampling exotic tropical fruits, local honey, and a full chocolate panel; we didn’t think we even had that much to room for chocolate! Beyond exquisite. Sheri was super kind as well - very approachable and considerate of the group. The chocolate itself (as I’m assuming that’s the reason of the tour!) ruined all commercial chocolate for us. 10/10 would recommend.
Extremely educational experience about the Hawaii agriculture and the rise of curated chocolate. Definitely a must for chocolate lovers. The 3 hours didn’t feel like 3 hours at all
The information and the tasting experience was amazing The walk was not too long. The weather was perfect. It had rained earlier in the day but the sun was shining when we were there. The green foliage was beautiful
