Un viaje a través de los sabores de Verona y la cocina italiana con tu guía local, ya sea en inglés o italiano. Comenzamos en una tienda de delicatessen para degustar una selección de jamones y quesos curados acompañados de patés de verduras. Como las aceitunas crecen extensamente en la zona, pasaremos por la tienda del molino de aceite local para probar una bruschetta y aprender todo sobre ella. En la próxima parada, probaremos 3 icónicos chocolates italianos y descubriremos más sobre cómo se hacen. Verona es famosa por sus vinos tintos Valpolicella. Haremos un descanso en la sala de catas de Saibante, una bodega que produce menos de 15.000 botellas al año. No solo probaremos, sino que descubriremos los secretos de su elaboración. Mientras caminamos por el centro histórico de UNESCO Verona, los guías compartirán historias sobre la historia, las tradiciones y la cultura de la ciudad. La última parada será en la tienda familiar que desde 1909 produce Pandoro, el pastel más famoso de Verona. Ven con hambre, emocionado por aprender cosas nuevas y listo para explorar los sabores de Verona.

Nuestra primera parada será en la zona de Castelvecchio, en una charcutería local para degustar una selección de jamones, quesos y patés de verduras de Sicilia.
Después de un breve paseo por las pintorescas calles de Verona, nos detendremos en la tienda del molino de aceite Redoro. El lago de Garda mantiene el clima perfecto para cultivar aceitunas, así que disfruta de una bruschetta con este oro líquido y 2 patés.
Verona es famosa por sus vinos Valpolicella donde se encuentra la bodega Corte Saibante. Producen menos de 10.000 botellas al año manteniendo una alta calidad. Nos detendremos en su sala de degustación cerca de la Arena, donde un sommelier explicará y servirá 2 degustaciones de Valpolicella.
Pasaremos por Piazza Erbe para detenernos en la tienda familiar que produce y vende Pandoro, el pastel más famoso de Verona. ¡Ven con hambre y listo para explorar los sabores de Verona!
El recorrido no se detendrá en la Casa de Julieta sino que pasaremos cerca. La casa fue utilizada como hotel en la época de Dickens.

Manuela was a wonderful guide who shared insights about Verona and its food culture. We visited small shops with food/drink/sweets specific to Verona and the region. We especially appreciated that even though the tour did not fill up ( only the two of us + Manuela), he did not cancel for whatever reason, as so often happens. We highly recommend the tour. We are not used to good wine and after three glasses we were high... anyway in the end it went well and we all went home happy

Our guide, Leonardo was fantastic! It was only my wife and me on the tour but that didn’t throw him. Leonardo was very knowledgable about Verona and the food and wine from the area. While there were not as many tastings as other tours we’ve taken, we learned a lot about the items and how they fit into Verona’s food history. The walk around town was also very informative. We really felt coming away from the tour that we certainly got our money’s worth and spent a few very pleasant hours learning about Verona.

This was not as good as other food walks I've taken in other cities, but it was fun. Our first stop, an olive oil tasting on bruschetta, was not informative at all, but the oils were interesting and different. The candy stop was an intense rapid overload of sugar with hardly any information. Our cake stop wasn't a stop, it was a pick-up and eat in the street, again, with no information. Our final stop we actually learned a bit about the two wines, but nothing more about the meats and cheeses than their straightforward descriptions. As we walked through Verona our guide pointed out a few historical points of interest. While we had a very good time with our guide and the other guests, the food choices didn't thrill us.

Unfortunately, the guide that was there was substituting our main guide who had an accident, so that is why the informative part was lacking. But now our main guide is back! Disappointed by an underwhelming tour. I've been on a few food tours in Italy, they are usually filled with interesting stories and inspiring food. Our guy was lovely but spoke quickly and didn't make it a memorable experience, no fun stories to make Verona or the food come alive. We basically had some toast with olive oil, a few sweets, a cake, and some wine and unremarkable cheese and salami. I was underwhelmed.

Carlo was a wonderful guide and so knowledgeable about the history and culture of Verona and it's good. We learnt so much and enjoyed being introduced to stores and foods we otherwise would not have tried without his guidance. Unfortunately they were not able to cater well for my friend who has coeliac when it came to food, which was absolutely not the fault of the host who tried his best to adjust the experience. Would recommend for anyone interested in Verona culture, food, wine and history but would caution for those who are gluten intolerant or allergic/coeliac.
