I bought the whisky tasting tour as a birthday experience for my boyfriend, and it did not disappoint. Aiden, our tour guide, was incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable and charismatic, making the whole experience both fun and engaging. He even recommended a whisky for us to try afterwards, which may have even converted us into whisky drinkers! I'd definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Edinburgh.
Really cool experience. Very well made. Lots of things to learn and watch.
We didn't do the tour but visited the tasting bar downstairs. We've had good experiences there before - but this one was a disappointment. The server was able to propose some good things to taste based on our preference, but then never came back. They neglected to give us the water and dropper - took a long time to get someone's attention. Never really checked in again. We found a different server to try a couple more, but same sad lack of followup. I guess they're not interested in 2 middle aged women - but we have a lot of experience with tastings and it was their loss that they didn't engage. We would have done more and probably would have gone to the restaurant there if only they'd done better.
Enjoyed the tour Molly gave. Learned about whisky and liked the tastings
The experience was very well done. They provide beautiful video presentations on the entire process of making scotch whiskey from grain to maturation. Our guide also provided detailed explanations of the process and answered any questions our small group had. The scotch vault and collection was amazing with over 3000 bottles some dating back 2000 years. My only criticism would be that we only tasted one type of whiskey and apparently if you want to taste more you need to take an upgraded tour. Otherwise it was very informative and I’d recommend it especially if you’re a scotch newly.
Great program of background, storytelling, information about different types of Scotch whiskies. Tasting wraps up the tour, storytelling, education side of the experience, You can also book a version that includes the "taste of Scotland" dinner. This is a wonderful dinner and whisky pairing mean where you can take your time, enjoy the dishes and the provided tastings. We had a great experience on both the tour/tasting and dinner. This is a highly recommended experience that really helps set the mood if you do this at the beginning of your trip. VERY worth the time and cost.
Parts parts of it are very creative but they shuffle you in and shuffle you out. There is no time for questions. I suggest you take a tour at an actual distillery. This is just that magnificent, magnificent showroom, and a shop but you don’t really learn that much about whiskey.
Great presentation - loved the mixed medium. Wish we had tasted more whiskys, but that's what the other tours are for I guess!
A throughly enjoyable experience with a little bit of everything for everyone. Special shoutout to Maddie who gave me a detailed knowledge of whiskeys and despite being busy gave me her time. A highly recommended experience:)
Make sure you know what you’re getting. It’s a multimedia experience with no actual whiskey equipment (I.e., not a distillery). Learning about the history, process, and regional differences was interesting. The movie presentations were very commercialized. The one taste of whiskey was quite small. We did the ‘silver’ experience.
