Alan was very informative while keeping us interested and laughing throughout the tour. We all enjoyed the stories about Boston’s history.
Appreciate that my humor somehow worked. Thanks!
Nice small group where we could listen as we walked to guides comments. Meet up was easy in front of public library. We should of showed up early to visit the interior of the library. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and had lots of information to keep us interested.
Glad you enjoyed it.
Boston is a lovely city, and our tour guide Alan showed us more fabulous places - like the final stop on the underground railroad, the first integrated Baptist Church and the English church that has no steeple. I learned about the creation of the city, the subway and the city planning.
I enjoyed sharing the well-known and not so well-known spots of Boston with you.
The freedom walk in Boston was perfect. Alan our tour guide was not only knowledgeable but was friendly and help at the beginning, during and at the end of the tour. This was a great way to see Boston. Definitely worth the time.
Thanks for the kind words!
Superb walking tour! Our tour guide Andrew was engaging and brought the history to life with fun facts and historical context that was unbeknownst to me, a college history major. It’s amazing how much one can keep learning! I was riveted by it all. Well worth the time and money.
Andrew can be quite impressive in his history knowledge and presentation!
This would have been a good tour for people with a lot of prior knowledge about history. With kids and one person not being American we wanted an overview of the historical events rather than snippets of fun facts. We walked away not feeling as we had learnt a lot however the guide was very knowledgeable and friendly.
I am very sorry. The last thing I would ever want is to have you feel left out. I do try and include the background and story of the historic events themselves plus some fun facts that go along with them and architecture as well. I apologize that this mix did not work for you.
Great tour from Alan, our very friendly and knowledgeable guide. Good pace, lots of information, and he even let us run the Boston marathon at the end 😆. Definitely recommend if you want a run down of the main historic sites in the area and also some interesting nuggets of information about the more recent history of Boston too. Will go again with Boston City walks if we visit again. Cheers Alan, Ewan and Theresa.
Thanks so much. Enjoyed having you on the tour too!! Look forward to seeing you on your return.
Excellent work by the guide; a native of over 70 years! Tour was at a nice pace and very informative.
Thank you very much. Happy you enjoyed the tour.
Allen was very knowledgeable. In pain right now since elbow surgery. Nice walk. Nice group. Be sure to leave time to do free tour of Boston public library Friday or Saturday available. About an hour. Beautiful structure. This is where the tour starts. Steps of library.
Debra, you indicated during the tour that you were really enjoying it and your words here mirror that. Was there a reason your rating doesn't match that?
The information about the building architecture was helpful. Also, the guide agreed to go to Acorn St. and Louisburg Sq. which was a bit off the beaten path in back of Beacon Street which was very interesting.
All these various aspects add to the tour. Thanks for noticing.
