Would thoroughly recommend this tour but the hike to the monastery is not for the faint hearted. You can sit it out though and still enjoy the scenery. I was glad we took the morning tour as it was very warm the day we went (start of a heatwave)
Thank you for your feedback. We are glad to hear you enjoyed the tour and the scenery.
Enjoyed the trip, good value, interesting places.

Aitor, the guide, and the driver are very kind and punctual; the tour is very comprehensive. We liked it a lot; it was too beautiful and interesting.
Muchas gracias por tu comentario. Nos alegra saber que disfrutaste del tour. Agradecemos también tus palabras sobre el guía y el conductor. Esperamos poder volver a verte pronto en el País Vasco.
Stefan the guide was very knowledgeable abd enthusiastic. We covered much local history, customs and advice re the walk. Highly recommended even if the weather was like been back in the UK!
Thank you for your feedback. We are glad to hear that Stefan was knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and that you enjoyed the tour and local insights.
We tried to contact vendor several times to resolve connection transport options and they didn't reply until 100% cancellation fees would apply and didn't help accommodate us and we lost all £220. Do not use these people
We are sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. We would like to clarify that our guide remained at the meeting point for approximately 20 minutes beyond the scheduled departure time. As this was a regular shared tour and not a private service, we are required to adhere to the established schedule out of respect for the other participants. During that time, we attempted to contact you by phone, but our calls went directly to voicemail. We were eventually able to reach you via WhatsApp, by which time the group had already departed. We understand that delays can happen; however, in this case, it was not possible to postpone the start of the tour any longer. We sincerely regret that you were unable to enjoy the experience and appreciate your feedback. We wish you all the best in your future travels.
All the sites were great! Gaztelugatxe was a breathtaking site! Stephen was an exceptional guide and explained everything thoroughly! He made sure to reach out to all the tourists in case we had questions, that was very nice and appreciated!
Thank you very much for your kind feedback. We are very pleased to hear that you enjoyed Gaztelugatxe and the rest of the sites, and that Stephen made a positive difference to your experience. We will make sure to pass your comments on to him. We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your review, and we hope to welcome you again in the Basque Country in the future.
Frank was a fantastic and knowledgeable guide, expertly juggling the Spanish and English speaking groups on the tour. The six hour duration was perfect and it was great to find a tour that started early and finished with enough time to get to the airport for a late afternoon flight.
Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the tour and that Frank was able to guide both language groups effectively. It’s also great to know the timing worked well for your schedule and allowed you enough time to reach the airport comfortably. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.
Hike is amazing and lots of up and down hiking (not just the expected hermitage steps) BYO picnic -no meal time available during the excursion. Bermeo and Guernika are a little sleepy and could be plussed up with a mini pintxo of tuna and shot glass of cider or a walk on to a fishing boat to see how a fisherman works. It’s possible my guide was newer and didn’t have much depth.
Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re happy to hear you enjoyed the hike so much, and we appreciate your suggestions about Bermeo and Guernica. We also take note of your comments about the guide as we continue working to improve our tours. We hope to see you again soon!
A brilliant place to visit with spectacular scenery all around. It’s not a difficult walk but goes involve a lot of steps up to the chapel and, on the way back a reasonable walk up a long incline. Would suggest you wear good walking shoes and take water with you.
Thank you for your review! We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the spectacular scenery. We’ll make sure to also highlight bringing water for future visitors, as appropriate footwear is already specified in the tour description. We hope to welcome you again soon 😊
Due to the strenuous nature of the climbing 241 steps to the top of Gaztelugatxe then a steep incline coming back, far more time was needed to truly enjoy the experience. When I’m paying for the main event on a tour I want to feel like I can see it all. I didn’t appreciate that we had such a limited time in all the spots. My family opted to stay in Gernika-Lumo and train back to Bilbao We wanted lunch as there was no time for it in Bermeo or Gernika-Lumo. No water was even provided after hiking. It is stressed if you’re not in good shape not to go out to the island but what is the point of going if you’re not given enough time. I booked an English speaking tour but it was combined with Spanish speaking so it took longer at the stops to explain everything. It was just an okay experience for me as a travel agent. Stephan was a nice guide and made a wonderful recommendation for lunch in Gernika-Lumo, Zallo Barri.
Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry the experience did not fully meet your expectations. Please note that climbing up to the hermitage is optional and not required if you are not in good physical condition. We also allocate time at each stop so guests can enjoy the surroundings at their own pace. Additionally, our tours are bilingual, as indicated in the tour descriptions. We appreciate your comments and will take them into account to continue improving our tours.
