Es una mezquita y antigua iglesia que sirve como un importante sitio cultural e histórico en Estambul, Turquía. El último de los tres edificios de la iglesia que fueron erigidos sucesivamente en el sitio por el Imperio Romano de Oriente, se completó en 537 d.C. El sitio fue una iglesia ortodoxa griega desde 360 CE hasta 1453, excepto por un breve tiempo como iglesia católica latina entre la Cuarta Cruzada y 1261. Después de la caída de Constantinopla en 1453, sirvió como mezquita hasta 1935, cuando se convirtió en museo. En 2020, el sitio se convirtió una vez más en mezquita.
La Mezquita Azul de Estambul, también conocida por su nombre oficial, Mezquita del Sultán Ahmed, es una mezquita imperial histórica de la época otomana ubicada en Estambul, Turquía.
