Very modern and offers more of a snapshot of the man and his family than the world-changing events from his 8 years in office. Cool interactive decision points exhibit. The 9/11 section was moving and its one of the few libraries that lets you wander through their Oval Office reproduction. Educators are on site to talk through the history and answer questions
The most interesting part was the 911 history. Seeing George's childhood and later years in life was a bonus.
The visit to the George W Bush Library and Museum was outstanding and very well escorted by our guide Rebecca who was excellent. The replica Oval Office a memorable moment.
The entire day! My tour guide was not only super nice, but accommodating, empathetic, and extremely helpful as I was injured, but she is incredibly knowledgeable about all the places we went! Her vast knowledge was mind blowing! She knew and were friends with all the docents everywhere! She not only knew the history, but knew the behind the scenes, back door stories and information as well…. she knew details that I’m sure nobody else knows. In fact, I would say rating her from 1 to 5 she was a solid 10! The best tour guide I have ever had.
Rebecca and Erin are amazing tour guides. They are so knowledgeable about this museum and all of Dallas. We booked four tours with them all together. Picked us up at our hotel in a very comfortable SUV. (Always on time). So many details we learned and saw, more than we expected. They shared information about great restaurants which we went to three of them. So nice to have someone to take our picture in front of special places. Even dropped us off at airport after our last tour. I would definitely book them again and make sure I set it up early to make sure they could. If I could rate ten stars, I would!
Spent about 2 hours in the President Bush side and an hour at the Freedom Matters exhibit. Very interesting and fascinating exhibits and videos. My 8yo, 10yo, and teen enjoyed it. Many interesting information and videos to watch. Sat in the replica Oval office chair and took a few photos. Gifts to the America and artifacts are well preserved. Staffs are helpful. I'm grateful to learn what President Bush and Laura have done for the nation when they were in office. When visiting the Freedom Matters exhibit, one of the staff walked behind us closely, but never spoke a word. She never followed anyone else, except us. Then she walks to speak to the other staff, and they greeted and explained what these 4 rooms are to everyone (non-Asian) except us. I walked and read every piece of information on the wall to my children so they would understand Liberty and Rights they have as a born Hmong-American citizen. The exhibit, "The AMERICAN EXPERIMENT" by Thomas Jefferson -At times, we've lived up to that goal. We've also fallen short. Then read onto the Reconstructions of America (Amendments). Overall, easy short reading and eye-catching exhibits.
Hello, Good afternoon. My name is Rebecca Koenigs and I am the Owner of Discover Dallas Tours. We are a Dallas Tour Company, not the Bush Library & Museum. Our business gives privately guided tours of the Bush Library & Museum to customers who book directly through our business. I am writing to you in response to your review above as it was accidently left on our TripAdvisor page. I believe you meant to leave your review on the TripAdvisor attraction page for the George W. Bush Presidential Library & Museum. As you did not take a private tour with our business, may I ask if you would please delete your review. A 4 star review pulls down our 5 star ranking. The review not referring to our business or reflective of the services we provide (hotel pickup, privately guided tours, etc.). I completely agree with you that the staff at the museum is very knowledgeable. It sounds like your children were interested and engaged in the various Exhibits, which are thoughtful and well presented. Thank you for your time in removing this review. I would very much appreciate it. Best, Rebecca Koenigs Owner Discover Dallas Tours 214.682.7712
So interesting! Located on the SMU campus. Fascinating exhibits and videos. The volunteers were over the top helpful.
She offered great history about the city of Dallas and about the history of different neighborhoods we drove through. She kept us on schedule and offered a great service!
I enjoyed traveling to and from the museum with Rebecca. On the trip there and back and while in the museum she shared a lot of information and helped me to get the most out of the experience.
very interesting tour for those interested in american history; the guide was very attentive, gave extra information. Highly recommended tour if you are in Dallas.
