07:30 Recogida en su hotel en París (puede ser también Caen, Bayeux, Honfleur) y destino de salida Caen por nuestro cómodo Mercedes E220 con aire acondicionado coche de clase ejecutiva por 2 personas o en Mercedes monovolumen de 3 participantes. Se tarda unas 3 horas (240 km) en llegar al Memorial de Caen. Se hará una parada en el área de descanso. Este viaje es guiado en vivo por 4 participantes.
10:30 - 12:00 Visita del Museo y Memorial de Caen, ubicado en el sector de British Sword Beach. El Museo de Caen es el mejor museo de la Segunda Guerra Mundial en Francia. Obtendrá una visión general de la Batalla de Normandía, así como el sentido de la vida personal de las personas que participaron en ella. Una excelente película de 19 minutos documenta esta batalla con imágenes históricas originales. 12:00 Salida hacia Arromanches-les-Bains. Se tarda aproximadamente 0,5 horas (30 km) por las carreteras nacionales, cruzando hermosos paisajes y pequeños pueblos.
12:30 - 13:30 Pausa para el almuerzo y visita de la ciudad de Arromanches-les-Bains. Arromanches es una pequeña ciudad costera famosa por su antiguo puerto artificial Mulberry. Situado en el centro de la zona de desembarco británica de Gold Beach, desempeñó un papel inestimable en los desembarcos del Día D. Los aliados construyeron aquí un puerto temporal artificial para la descarga de vehículos, materiales y personas. 15:00 - 16:10 Llegada y visita del Cementerio y Centro de Visitantes Americano de Normandía, ubicado en Colleville-sur-Mer y con vistas a la playa de Omaha. Contiene 9.387 soldados estadounidenses, la mayoría de los cuales murieron durante el Desembarco de Normandía y el Muro de los Desaparecidos con los nombres de 1.557 soldados desaparecidos en acción. Los acantilados que conducen a las playas contienen los restos de las defensas alemanas, incluidas casamatas de hormigón con monumentos a los soldados. 17:30 - 18:30 Llegada a Pointe du Hoc, un acantilado prominente entre Utah y la playa de Omaha. Our guide was exceptionally knowledgeable. The tour is a long day (14 hours round trip). Our guide had a planned schedule and he was very rigid about the schedule. We had been to Normandy before and it would have been a better day if the guide was more curious when he picked us up to see what would be our most interest since we were building on our past experience.

My husband and I wanted to visit Normandy, particularly the timing for D-Day, since we were visiting Paris. Another tour was booked by us but that provider changed the itinerary at the last minute leaving us in search of a tour for our visit to Normandy. It was frustrating to say the least! Fortunately we found Cyrus at Clewel Travel! I cannot begin to tell you how pleasant and accommodating Cyrus was! He helped arrange our tour showing us all the sites we wanted, was so pleasant and absolutely a wealth of knowledge. We could not have found a better tour! In fact, it was a blessing the other tour changed their program leading us to find the “perfect tour”! And they were far more reasonably priced than their competitor😊😊 Could not have asked for anything more- Cyrus even got us back in time to keep our dinner cruise reservations! We would highly recommend this tour! In fact we were so happy with them we booked a different tour the next day - different guide but same excellent service! Our tour guide Danil knew his stuff and gave a wealth of knowledge regarding that terrible time. The flag ceremony was particularly poignant! Be prepared tho for a lot of walking! I would also give 5 stars to our driver Vadim
We had a spectacular day with David and Vadim. Stay with me while I capture this amazing day in some detail so that you will immediately book with this company! David, our guide, and Vadim, our driver, came to our hotel in advance of our pick up time and were so kind and polite! At 7:30 am, we set off for Caen to begin our tour of the D-Day museums, memorials and sites. The van was spotless and quite comfortable and there were waters waiting for us. The museums we visited were so well done and were rich with history and memorabilia from this important event. The American cemetery left me speechless as did Pont du Hoc. The day moved smoothly and David was very specific at every stop with how much time we had and where to meet. We never felt rushed or confused. David took us to a lovely restaurant with excellent food and very fair prices. While Vadim deftly handled the driving, David shared his incredible breadth of knowledge about not only the D-Day landings but all facets of the war and beyond. It is a long drive to and from Paris but this was an epic day from start to finish and I could not give David and Vadim a higher or more enthusiastic recommendation! Be advised that this tour covers a lot of sites and it is a 14 hour journey but it is so well worth it. This private tour was well worth the cost given the outstanding service that was provided. I look forward to booking with this company in the future.
It was wonderful. The guide was very knowledgeable and he and the driver made the entire experience feel more like a road trip with friends. I couldn’t have been more pleased!!!
The tour was great. The driver and English speaking guide were knowledgeable about Paris and Normandy giving us insight on interesting sites along the way. The timing of the tour had us at the right places at the time. While I would have loved to spend all day at some of the sites, it just wasn’t possible given the amount of time we had to drive. I would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see the highlights in Normandy, but not having the schedule to allow for a slower pace.
David was very knowledgeable and provided extra insight into the museum visits…I really enjoyed the smaller van used to transport us…got to see the real French countryside!
