Un día en el Pont du Gard, Nîmes y Orange

⚠️ ¡Vehículo nuevo a partir de marzo de 2026! Hola querido visitante, mi nombre es Arnaud y seré tu guía nativo en esta magnífica Provenza. Entre los 5 recorridos que propongo, hoy os llevo a los monumentos romanos de Pont du Gard, Nîmes y Orange. El recorrido comenzará en Nimes con una rápida parada frente a la Maison Carrée, un antiguo templo romano, antes de realizar la visita audioguiada de la Arena de Nimes. Nota: De noviembre a marzo, solo se realizará un paseo por el casco antiguo de Nimes, para ver los principales monumentos. Luego nos detendremos en el Pont du Gard para hacer un picnic con productos locales de granjas locales (solo de abril a octubre) y luego pasearemos por el Pont du Gard para disfrutar de unas vistas magníficas de este monumento. Finalmente, nos dirigiremos a Orange para hacer una parada en el Arco de Triunfo y realizar una visita audioguiada al majestuoso Teatro Antiguo. Nota: de noviembre a marzo el circuito se realizará en sentido inverso.

Itinerario
Después de 45 minutos en coche desde Aviñón, una parada para hacer fotos frente a la Maison Carrée en Nîmes, un antiguo templo romano dedicado a los nietos del emperador Augusto. Luego 15 minutos a pie hasta la Arena de Nîmes.
Visita audioguiada de las espléndidas arenas de Nimes, construidas hacia el año 100 d.C. siguiendo el modelo del Coliseo de Roma. Luego una caminata de 15 minutos para regresar al auto y unos 30 minutos en auto hasta el Pont du Gard. Nota: la visita a las Arenas no está incluida entre noviembre y marzo. Durante este período solo pasearemos por la ciudad para observar los principales monumentos de la ciudad.
Después de un picnic de una hora con vistas al Pont du Gard (sólo de abril a octubre), un paseo alrededor del magnífico e imponente Pont du Gard, que formaba parte de un acueducto romano de 52 kilómetros de longitud para abastecer de agua a Nimes. Fue construida alrededor del año 50 d.C. Luego un viaje de 30 minutos hasta Orange.
Parada para tomar fotografías en el Arco de Triunfo de Orange y escuchar grabaciones de audio que recorren la historia del monumento. Luego un viaje de 10 minutos hasta el Teatro Antiguo.
Visita audioguiada al majestuoso teatro antiguo construido alrededor del año 20 a. C. Luego aproximadamente 30 minutos en coche de regreso al punto de partida en Aviñón.

Very nice trip. Pont Du Gard was the highlight but Nimes and Orange are also good. Arnaud was very helpful.

Great guide. Well planned day that covered a lot. Loved the Pont du Gard and Orange Theatre best. Authentic lunch but a bit light. Bit squashed with 6 people plus Arlo the guide in the car on a hot day. Overall enjoyed the day. Good value.

Very personalized tour of only 3 guests. The tour guide was very interested in making the tour as enjoyable as possible. The picnic lunch was a pleasant addition to the trip to Pont du Gard. The locations visited were amazing and informative. Loved the tour!
This tour offered some of the best of the best Roman antiquities with the bonus of Provence views! We thought Arnaud laid out the itinerary for Orange, Nîmes and the Pont du Gard perfectly. We could not have accomplished these logistic ourselves nor enjoyed his history lessons along the way. The Arch, Theatres and Amphitheatres were all quite amazing to see. The 2000 year old La Maison Carrée was beautiful. Our lovely picnic at Pont du Gard was lovely and so "Very French"!! Highly recommended.

The sights were worth seeing but the mode of transport was limited and not comfortable. A fairly small car with 6 people and we were stuck in the back with no leg or feet room or much air circulation.
Hello, Thank you for your review and for noticing that I am alone in the company and I have built this business from scratch without any financial aid from the French and European organizations. So you understand why I couldnt’ buy a bus or a van after only 1 year of work. But thanks to your help, I will try to buy something bigger in 1 year or 2, except if the goal of your review is to block people to book my tour and to avoid me to live decently. Anyway, this is not a small car (maybe for your country but here in France we don’t consider it as a small car but a 7-seat car for families). For air circulation in the car, there is something called « window », and guess what, it’s possible to open it! And it’s also possible to ask for more air conditioning. I’ve never bite someone who asked for more air… I mean, not yet! However, you said that the sights were interesting. You should have talked about it instead of developing the negative things (according to what you think but it’s subjective and it’s not what the majority of my clients think). Regards.
We thoroughly enjoyed our day with our amazing guide, Arnaud. This tour included all the places on our "must see" list. The added bonus was the lovely picnic lunch with all locally sourced foods. I highly recommend his tours!!
