Pros: The itinerary was exceptionally rich and well-organized. The tour guide was professional, friendly, and shared plenty of engaging local insights. The driver went above and beyond to ensure everyone was comfortable, creating a warm, friendly group atmosphere throughout the day. The vehicle was very comfortable with great air conditioning, and the driver kept us well-supplied with bottled water. We were also given unhurried time to explore each town. Cons: July is peak lavender season in Provence, and many people book tours specifically for the fields. It would be helpful if you know clearly distinguished between Luberon hilltop town tours and dedicated lavender field tours. Not knowing this beforehand, I booked the full-day tour assuming it would cover both experiences thoroughly. In reality, we spent under 10 minutes at the lavender fields, as the route mainly focuses on visiting various towns across the Luberon region, which felt unnecessary and left me slightly disappointed. The itinerary also included 2–3 shopping stops.
Gordana was an amazing tour guide for our private day tour in Provence. She picked us up at the cruise terminal in Marseille, full of energy and knowledge about the area, and advised us on the best order to see the locations I had requested (Gordes and the Museum of Lavender), and suggested stopping at the little old village in La Sorgue with the beautiful scenery, street market, papermill, and church. This was our FAVORITE stop on the tour, and we were SO glad she suggested a stop. Throughout the trip, Gordana shared the history of the regions in France, a bit about the wine region of the area since we did not have enough time to stop, and was also very knowledgeable about the lavender distillation process. Gordana was very pleasant to work with during the coordination phase and throughout the tour. She offered great suggestions for lunch and shopping in the little villages we stopped in. I would highly recommend booking with her or her partner (it's a mother/daughter team) and will certainly contact her again should we find ourselves back in that part of France!
I recently celebrated my 52nd birthday, and through out all my life experiences I have met a few exceptional people. Gordana is one of them. She is the epitome of joy and enthusiam, and is readily knowledgeable on Provence and French culture. Gordana's liveliness and zest to teach us made the afternoon so delightful. Our whole group was charmed by Gordana. Gordana's energy did not waiver during the tour it only seemed to grow stronger, she really has a passion for what she does. I am thankful for the visit we had in Provence with Gordana guiding the way. I highly recomend travel to Provence and having Gordana act as your ambassador.
We have been on over 150 tours all over the world with Viator. We finally found the best guide ever. Emily. She was fun, and had great info about everything we saw and did. My personal favorite site was the 1st century Roman bridge. A marvel. She stated at the beginning we would want to move to Provence after the tour. She was right. And to Emily’s mom, you raised her right.
What a beautiful day exploring the lovely lovely villages of Provence! Each village brought more and more interesting stories and scenery. Gordona was a great guide, we had ample time to explore and she explained the villages very well. Not to be missed!
Emily did a great job. My wife was ill from the heat and she was very helpful and compassionate to our circumstances. Very knowledgeable of the history of Provence. Very good communication skills and explanations.
Absolutely superb and would highly recommend. Emily was a delightful and knowledgeable guide and happy to tailor timings and stops for our small group's preferences. Provence is stunning and this tour shows it off at its best.
Beautiful day seeing all of the sights of Provence! Eric was terrific, he was flexible with our family to stay and enjoy the spots we wanted to and to breeze through other stops when we started to fad later in the day. Very informative for all of us!
We had a magnificent day! Our guide Erik was knowledgeable, respectful, professional and very accommodating to our needs.
All inclusive full day in Provence. Our guide, Eric was energetic, friendly, full of great info and a great driver
