TRUJILLO: Full day in English from the Salaverry port

Itinerario
We will depart from the Port of Salaverry, and after about 30 minutes we will arrive at the Huacas del Sol y de la Luna (Temples of the Sun and Moon). The tour will be a walk of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. We will observe the polychrome murals of the Moche culture, one of the earliest cultures in northern Peru.
We will depart from the Huacas del Sol y de Luna, it will be about a 30-minute transfer and we will make a strategic 30-minute stop so that you can get to know the city center and some important mansions.
We will depart from the Historic Center of Trujillo, and after about 20 minutes we will arrive at the Chan Chan Citadel. The tour will be on foot and will last approximately one hour. You will be able to observe reliefs of fish, birds, and other figures that illustrate the economic activity of one of the largest empires on the northern coast: the Chimú.
Leaving Chan Chan, we head to Huanchaco beach, where we will see the famous caballitos de totora, traditional reed boats of the Chimú people.

8:00 am - Boarding begins at Salaverry Square. 8:30 am - We depart for the tours. Passengers have access to a free shuttle bus from the Port of Salaverry to Salaverry Square, a 3-minute ride. Our team will be holding a sign with the group or passenger names. This is to keep operating costs down. Return to the Port is at the time specified by the passengers. All our guides are fluent in English, and our transportation is comfortable.

There's a lot of history of the Peruvian culture still buried underground. But what they have discovered so far is quite interesting. We visited the Moon and Sun temples and the Chan Chan citadel. There was a lot of walking outside in the heat so be aware and protected from the sun. The Peruvian roads are a bit rough, so don't worry - the drivers are good and careful. Listen to the history and appreciate what you hear.

Too much walking for two senior citizens and not much to see. Our guide was knowledgeable and did make an effort to accomodate our physical limitations but no water was available and we never stopped for the shopping we had asked for.

We arrived via cruise ship and had a day to see all the sights in Trujillo. Alejandro was our guide and he was extremely knowledgeable and flexible as we changed our trip during the day. We can only recommend Trebol Tours to anyone who wants to have an individual trip throught the sights. We all enjoyed a very relaxing but exciting day.
