What a special experience! From the moment we arrived, Mirabella and Giovanni made us feel like family. They welcomed us into their beautiful home, and you could immediately feel the love and warmth that fills it. Their kitchen was inviting, the class was fun and hands-on, and we learned so much while making delicious pasta and tiramisu. What made this experience truly memorable was how genuinely kind and caring they were. We enjoyed every minute of our time together and left with wonderful memories, new skills, and full hearts. Highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Trieste!
One of a kind experience. My husband and I were the only people in the glass. I was on cloud 9 for getting to make pasta in Italy. We even found a kitchen store so I could bring home a new ravioli cutter! I’m still in heaven and will be talking about it for some time.
This was a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience being in a local kitchen and spending time with someone who is passionate about what they ate teaching you
This was outside our comfort zone a bit but so worth it. We made two different pastas and a tiramisu (getting the recipes as well) then were served the pastas and tiramisu as part of a full meal with all accompaniments. Our host, Giovanna was awesome and what a cook!!!! The meal was fantastic. I would recommend this to anyone!
The cooking class was super, but the logistics to attend was dismal. There was no representation at the meeting place, and we were 30 minutes late for the failure.
I wanted interaction with locals and an opportunity to converse in Italian. My afternoon with Giovanni and Mirabella was everything I was hoping for. Their home is charming and inviting and walkable from the area near Il Molo Audace. Giovanni explained the recipes and techniques and let me have hands on experience with the chitarra pasta cutter and shaping the ravioli. During our conversation over lunch, they gave me recommendations for the rest of my time in Trieste. Book this activity for a memorable experience.
Purely authentic Italian experience! Rita is lovely and such fun - and a wonderful hostess! We had the best time!
We booked the pasta course and looked over the expensive price based on the pictures of the great cuisine and the description. Unfortunately, our instructor was not only very unfriendly, but the kitchen was in her private apartment and far too small for 5 people. We could hardly move in the kitchen and also made only 4 portions, although we were 5 people. The instructor also barely spoke to us and was not prepared, which made her even more uncomfortable when she had too little coffee for the tiramisu, for example. (The tiramisu was very crisp by the way) We felt very uncomfortable the whole time. Plus, communicating via TripAdvisor is an absolute joke. We were unable to reach anyone and even now, in retrospect, our complaints are ignored. The course is under no circumstances worth 135€ per person! We couldn't even do every step and were still hungry after that because she let us work without explanation and then just dumped some of the dough after she tried to work the dough in the dough machine for 10min wordless but obviously pissed. I hope this review is read and you save money.
Dear Gloria, We’re really sad to hear that the class didn’t work out as you hoped. We completely understand how frustrating it must have been with the small kitchen and limited hands-on time! We truly appreciate you sharing your experience — your feedback will help us make the class better for future guests. We hope to have the chance to host you again in the future to truly show you how much we care about what we do! Best,
Our family of three adults and one 12-year-old, had a lovely time in Giovanna‘s home. We made and ate delicious pasta, and she graciously shared some great tourist tips and suggestions for our family. It was such a unique experience to work in someone else’s kitchen and share a meal at their dining table. Such a hit with our whole crew!
Rita was a gracious host, extremely friendly & made the whole experience memorable. I booked last minute while waiting for my flight to take off & didn’t put in our preferences. She had made two appetizers out of mackerel and cod & when I told her that I didn’t really care for fish but would absolutely try it, she whipped up some bruschetta as well. My daughter and I had a wonderful time getting to know Rita and learning how to make pasta and tiramisu. I highly recommend this experience.
